So my pain in my ribs usually on a scale of 1-10 stays at a 6 on good days and off the charts on bad days. I cannot breathe without gasping or whimpering. It feels like I have a band crushing my ribs or someone jumping on them. On my bad days the pain in my ribs extends to my shoulders and hips. Even my skin hurts. I literally cannot Which means I can't prove one way or another to my doctor that have anyone touch or hug me. Which leaves out getting massages. Autoimmune diseases run in... Read more ..read more

What about the gut biome?

I have an idea. I think the types of foods we eat might be killing off the more helpful bacteria leaving the bad guys to "poison" us. This would mean that things like fibromyalgia, type 2 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, etc might just be the symptoms. Just to be clear, I am not a hippy or vegan. Nor do I think processed foods are bad. I also know correlation does not equal causation. That being said. Here is why. I remember watching something that said that researchers looked at the gut... I’m turning 70 next month and while slightly overweight, I’ve been in fair shape. 5’5 with short legs. Currently 163. I can walk/hike at least 4 miles with no issues. We walk about a mile a day regularly. I’ve always been awkward and am less so now than as a child. Never an athlete and hate skating or bike riding. We are in the car on our first day of a 2 week road trip. We’re meeting my older sister and her husband for a week at a resort area and then heading off for a week on our own... Read more ..read more

Hello I’m wondering if anyone can help me please. I’m fibromyalgia and hypermobility diagnosed. I am suffering with horrendous mid back pain in the night. It’s waking me up. When I get up I’m in so much pain. I feel exhausted. I was on duloxotine but came off due to side effects. I’m now on venlafaxine I’m undecided about this. It isn’t helping my pain as such but I’m hoping it will help my chronic anxiety and anxiety induced flushing. I’m unable to take ssri I don’t tolerate them... Read more ..read more

I’ve had the ANA test done in 2020 and 2022 which was negative, I just had it done again and this time it was positive and showed positive for mixed connective tissue disease . The 3 other labs run for autoimmune SED rate , etc were negative for lupus , Sjorgrens. This was done since my symptoms of fibromyalgia which was diagnosed by a rheumatoid in 2022 have worsened after I had Covid in Jan 2023 and Sept 2023.These tests were ordered by pulmonologist in long Covid clinic and pain... Hi everyone, I'm 23, diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in September 2023, and I've never been on birth control but am considering starting. Did anyone have any adverse side effects from being on the pill as a Fibro sufferer? Might it worsen pain or other symptoms (brain fog, mood, sleep, etc.)? Any advice or maybe links to research will be super helpful! Thanks a bunch ..read more

Hello, dear community members. I use Google Translate to communicate. I was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (2 years) and associated fibromyalgia (7 years). I can’t say that I’m looking for methods of medical care, probably because I already know a lot about the biology of diseases. Previously, I was optimistic about the prospects for treatment and even went to study to become a biologist. The last year has been especially difficult. I would be grateful for your support and would... Read more ..read more

In 2019, a meta-analysis of 10 studies involving more than 3.8 million people linked dog ownership to a 24 percent risk reduction in mortality for diabetes, cancer and heart disease. Cardiovascular risk was even better: Dog ownership was associated with a 31 percent risk reduction for death from heart disease, the study found. Those are some big, well researched numbers! Let's throw in a picture of my baby ..read more
