Service intervals are 20k miles full stop. No messing around with ever changing oil change times or worrying about doing short journeys etc.
Just becasue the engine design is so old that it does not have a modern oil sensor to check how dirty the oil is, does not means it would not be vey sensible to change the oil earlier than 20000 , especially if being used for short commutes to work like yours??

Heart is not surprising a 911, real life with £110k is a panamera 4s e hybrid, specced one up and can do £110k fairly easily

…would you be able to get out of those buckets??
It’s a coffin with an engine and four wheels.
Once inside, there you stay.
A younger persons plaything, no good for decrepit oldies like me.
I once got into my Cousin’s Caterham, could not get out.
Same with a Porsche Tincan, getting out was highly undignified.
I’ll stick with an SUV.

I must admit, for £110k the Cayman GTS 4.0 is a mighty tempting proposition, especially as you'd come out with some change.
Would you get a 911 T or a Macan GTS? Depends if its your only car, I guess...!
For me, my 911 T has been perfect as my sole car and daily driver for the last 6 years, but I appreciate that others may have differing needs from their vehicle.

What happens when you go in for a service?
I imagine they wouldn’t know given you will have your phone with you so why would they activate CarPlay?
I also don’t think they would care.
Yeah - good point. They probably wouldn't activate it

…would you be able to get out of those buckets??
No.
The £15k I saved is for a collapsible electric winch and frame, self-launching when the driver's door is opened. Variable velocity allows me to catapult myself to my front door, or onto the roof of the OPC if over-zealous.
I will join you, discount on two winches

For those of you considering a 911 or even wondering if you could live with one, I thought I would give a short appraise of my conversion from Macan S to 992 and how I have found it as a daily driver.
First off, it is noisy. Mostly in a good way but certainly not the insulated hushed cruiser a Macan can be. It’s not overly intrusive and not enough to be even remotely uncomfortable, but you certainly know when you are on a poor surface.
It’s amazingly practical ! Front boot, space behind front seats have worked well for just about all the stuff I carry from time to time, but obviously not dogs ..read more
