Selling this fantastic Cattyshack catapult frame. One of the first decent frames I ever bought. brilliant, accurate set up. one unfortunate fork hit which doesn’t affect use at all. Very comfortable in the hand, natural micarta handle scales, very sturdy with minimal recoil. Not been used for about 18 months as I switched to the Evo 2. I’ll throw in some extra bands and a handful of 9.5mm ammo. £50 posted. Uk only ..read more

Fire design in tiny kelly kettles

Hi all! I am struggling with fire-setting in my small kelly kettle. The space to build the fire is about palm sized, and 1.5 inches deep. You've got to get fuel in there, but also enough of a lattice for air to pass through you've got to stand fuel up somehow so it doesn't touch the rim so you can put the kettle on the fire pan you've got to not knock whatever you've balanced when blowing on the fire & striking sparks you've got to get your burning/smouldering fire-starter... What have you cooked in your crusader cup?

I got bored of hot choc and instant soup so I had a go at doing porridge in my crusader cup this morning and it turned out great (3 heap tablespoons oats, 2 heaped teaspoons milk powder and filled up to the halfway mark with water). It worked fine but the shape of the cup made it difficult to stir so it did catch on the bottom in a couple of places. What else have you cooked in yours aside from the usual cuppasoup ..read more

A question for the canoeists among you. I'm looking to upgrade our three-piece aluminium paddles at 1140g, and cheap kids rubber dinghy paddles. We are two adults, two kids, who are both getting to the point of needing proper, feathered paddles rather than the plastic single bladed dinghy paddles they've been playing with. We paddle local rivers, generally slow moving. Mostly we're just touring around. The odd lake every now and then. We use a good quality 2 person inflatable (adventure... Read more ..read more

Well the vote is in for the April heat and we've been left with a tie between Brancho and Broch for first place. So here's the two pictures you've got to pick a winner from. The poll will run for 3 days and you'll have just one vote which, once cast, can't be changed. If there's still a tie at the end of the vote then I'll pick the winner by using a random method of selection. Here's the two contenders Picture 1 Taken by Brancho, titled "Buttermere Pines" Picture 2 Taken... Read more ..read more
