So I recently came into 10 acres of land used for hay. I am looking to buy a tractor for tillage, mowing, and moving dirt. What route should I do? Used off Facebook marketplace (or elsewhere). I just got a ditch bank flail and set it up. When I used the rear remotes to move it around, it scared the crap out of me how suddenly the thing moved and clunked to a halt! I screwed up and purchased a used 42” Ariens tiller. Brought it home and realized its 21 spline 1”and my little kubota is 6 spline 1 3/8 at the pto. Besides the obvious that it will spin the tines slower do you guys think i can get by for smaller to midsized projects? Home garden 30x50, would like to till up a few strips of virgin soil with grass as well. Learned a valuable lesson about PTO shafts today.
