I have been using a calming chew for my 6 months wildling. We walk, play, fetch, do puzzles, training, etc. Still at times, she isn't settling easy. I'm wondering what calming chews are your favorites (and why if you have researched the ingredients). Thanks submitted by /u/Bethjam [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello I just rescued a three year old German shepherd. It's been two days, he drinks water, but hasn't eaten yet. I tried to hand feed him. I'm thinking he's adjusting to a new home. If anyone has helpful tips it would be much appreciated. submitted by /u/chirock25 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Ideas for toys bones.

Hi ! I have a 10 month old Malinois mix GSD and I'm looking for bones/toys to leave him in his crate daily when I leave. I give him bullysticks but he finishes quickly! I am against bleached bones. (raw hide) and nothing too hard like ox horn. I sometimes fill a kong but it doesn't seem to work very well. I leave him beef cheek bones or yak cheese but I'm running out of ideas not to give him the same thing every day! Do you have any ideas ? please preferably something that lasts longer than 15min! ? Thank you all. submitted by /u/iLadyMarmelade [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Advice for GSD puppy ; 3 months

Hi- We recently added a GSD Puppy to our family. We have an older one. However my experience between the two have been totally different and if I am being completely honest, I am struggling with the puppy. He constantly barks and nips at me, all day, everyday. I work from home a few days out of the week, and those days are always stressful because I'm trying to entertain my puppy as well as work. I 100% understand that puppies nip and bite. But it's the barking at me anytime I do not give him attention thay is mind boggling. I try to redirect him with toys but those don't see to interest him ..read more

We have a soon to be 3 (in august) German shepherd. We’ve had him since he was 8wks and raised him with our other two dogs and cat. The only change in daily routine is my husband being home since having surgery and a rescue car that literally lives in the garage about 70% of the time and becoming more routine when I come home or am giving our 11ur old lab attention he will attack without warning most of the time. We are moving forward with neutering in a week and a collar and training sound. Is there anything else that we could look into or does anyone have a suggestion. We know the neutering ..read more

Hey everyone, I'm currently in the market for a reliable dog collar for my German Shepherd, Max, and I've narrowed it down to two options: the HALO Collar 3 and the SPOTON GPS Fence. Both have their own unique features, but I'm struggling to decide which would be the best fit for Max's needs. I've been scouring through reviews, watching comparison videos, and doing some research, but I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with either of these collars, especially with a German Shepherd like Max. Can you share your thoughts and recommendations? Here are a few specific ques ..read more

Hi, not exactly first time owner. We have had beagles before. Our girl is getting older and thinking about a shepherd but don’t know if it would be a good fit. A little worried about the adolescent period. Any suggestions for potential new owner? UPDATE: Thanks everyone for the comments. I read them all and appreciated the insight even if I didn’t reply. Lots to consider! submitted by /u/Traditional_Rent_619 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

EDIT: issues were resolved and this is the only incident of bad communication with the trainer. He profusely apologized and I understood what was happening. My boy is doing good and looks very happy and healthy. and of course I miss my baby but I understand this is best solution. I know board and train is not for everyone. One shoe does not fit all. Thank you everyone for your support and advice. So 3 weeks ago. I sent my GS to board and train to work on his anxiety and reactivity. He’s in his adolescence phase at 16months old. (I was a few weeks home from the hospital after my cancer surgery ..read more
