I had a set of Teravail Ramparts(slick) in 700x38mm that had some manufacturing defects. I was able to get a set of Teravail Washburns(center slick) in 700x42mm from warranty(they didn't have the ramparts in stock, so they sent me a full set of a different model), but they're the tightest tires I've ever had to put on. Had to buy the Koolstop tire bead jack to put these on. I have no idea how I would put these tires back on after a flat on the road. I'm running them with tubes because of my latex allergy.
Looking for 700x38-42mm tires for 95% road riding, but the quality of pavement is subpar ..read more

The wheelset of this Diverge DSW, which are Axis 3.0 SCS , they weigh like a ton. Theyre so heavy, i wonder why Specialized designed it this way. The handling is great, but the wheels , theyre just so heavy it makes this bike so slow ..read more

Greetings,
I'm looking to build up a Surly Cross-Check as a commuter/all rounder for my wife. Ideally, I'd like something that has:
A decent range of gears, while keeping the drivetrain relatively simple, most likely 1x11 or 1x10
Flat handle bars and thus thumb shifters
Caliper or v-breaks for easy maintenance
Can handle tires up to 700x38-42c
Silver, classic-looking components (more like a nice-to-have than requirement)
So far, I'm thinking an XT or SLX rear derailleur with a 42T cassette. The challenge that I'm having thus far is finding a good set of hybrid wheels (rear 135mm OLD) to acc ..read more

I'm looking at 25-26mm tires. I was about to pull the trigger on Gravelking slicks but then thought about GP5000s. I haven't tried the 5000s but learned to be careful with my favorite clincher GP4000. Are the sidewalls on the 5000s as durable as the GK? Most all my miles are road rides but I'm doing EroicaCA and my 85 Ironman needs new tires any way. I'd prefer the Continentals for the nice ride and high mileage but concerned about sidewall cuts. Maybe the GK are no better in that regard ..read more

Anyone have experience with both these brakes? I’ve read through some reviews and forum threads on both, but not a comparison. The latter is 2x the costs and 6mm shorter which reduces tire clearance, but I assume in all other cases is a better brake ..read more

I have some Rene Herse tires on tubeless wheels and they're noticeable more supple than other tubeless tires I've used. While I haven't yet been out on gravel with these tires, I'm assuming they'll make for a more comfy ride at the right pressure over some light 'chunk'.
If I have a set of wheels that are not tubeless ready (and I don't want to convert them gheto-style), are their particular tires and/or tubes that make for a more supple ride, at presumably higher pressures to avoid pinch flats, or would the same theory apply (e.g., stiffer casing/sidewalls regardless of tubeless vs. tube mak ..read more

Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask the question, buy maybe you guys can help me.
I want to buy a Cannondale Topstone Carbon 4 and I`m not sure what size to order M or L.
From my research I have seen that I fit between these sizes.
My dimensions:
Height: 180 cm (5ft 11inch)
Foot length: 87 cm (34.52 inch)
Arm length: 60 cm (23.6 inch)
Wingspan: 186 cm (6ft 1.2 inch)
- from the official Cannondale website they recommend the size M, but from what I see they are taking into account only the height:
- from other websites that sell bikes they recommend L size because I see that t ..read more

Just had a thorough fitting done on a pair of my bike today. I have been riding both without a proper fit for 4 years (Giant TCR Advanced 2018 size M) and this past season (Giant Revolt Advanced 2020 size M). I'm 5'9" with 81.5cm inseam (32").
The TCR got dialled in beautifully, and finally with a saddle that seems to work for me (an SQ Lab) although I clearly need narrower bars (have 34cm shoulder width) and will purchase since the fitter didn't have stock.
When it came to the Revolt, we got my saddle position dialled in first, but besides the bars being comically too wide for my frame (I'l ..read more
