I purchased a Baby Browning from a family friend. He purchased it new in 1966 and put about 30 rounds through it before putting it in the gun safe until I acquired it this week. The gun is in mint condition. Besides the paperwork and original storage case the gun came with a black "Browning" leather belt holster. I can seem to find one of these anywhere on the internet to gauge its value. Can any Baby browning experts help me out with this? Ive attached a few photos of the holster and gun... I did some selling and trading with my LGS and walked out with this new Buck Mark Plus Vision. Yeah it's kinda wild looking but it was calling my name. I got a great price on the gun plus a Vortex RDS. The gun only came with one mag so I went in search for more and picked up three more plus four TandemKross base pads. While I was on the TK sight I ordered one of their Halo Bolt Rackers ... I have one on my Ruger MK-IV and I really like it. Then I ran across TK's... Something New - Something .22 ..read more

An interesting article on the BHP from American Handgunner. Sights, Bites And Grip With a long-enjoyed reputation for outstanding reliability and ergonomics, the Browning Hi-Power (BHP) needs only limited work to make it a superb defensive pistol. Like anything else, though, the end result depends on the platform with which you begin, and some Hi-Powers make better base guns... americanhandgunner.com ..read more

Browning 380 1911

I was just at the gun store a little while ago, and the guy behind the table handed me one of those Browning 1911s in 380. I didn't even ask to see it... I will say that I was impressed with it, and it is a bit tempting to buy 1. But really, I don't have much use for it. I wouldn't carry it and it would just be a a range toy, which I already have enough of. It literally is about the total size of my 4" Shield plus (with a 10 round mag), more or less. But it did feel really great in the... Browning 380 1911 ..read more

Sights for my High-Power Clone

I have a FEG PJK-9HP, the High-Power Clone. As far as I can tell the sights are the same as on the Browning HP. For a long time, I've thought about selling it, but in the last few months I've decided to keep it since it reliably shoots JHPs and a little trigger work has improved the pull. I'm interested in getting better sights, more combat sights than target sights, so trying to find out what those of you with BHP have and/or used, particularly night sights. Any suggestions are appreciated ..read more

Goes to half cock

I have an old BHP 9mm, the one that has a dent on the right side of slide. My query is this. When racking the slide into open-slide engaging the slide stop lever (as if it ran out of ammo), then when you release the slide stop lever and the slide racks back in place, the hammer goes to half cock and the safety catch engaged (just a little but still engaged) enough to prevent to full cock by hand. Is this normal? particularly hammer going to half cock and safety engaged, so I... Goes to half cock ..read more

HI Power newbie hear with some questions and thoughts for the knowledgeable. Background: About 23ish years ago I was shopping for my first pistol. I was in a LGS with my brother and the first thing I picked up was a HI Power. I passed on it and went with a cheap S&W. I didn't know any better at my time. Through the years I've always thought about that HI Power on and off. Now with the launch of the SA-35 it lit a fire under my backside and once I get the obsession starts, it's over...
