So I was thinking about getting a Specialized Rockhopper to get back into riding after taking 2-3 years off (got an e scooter and that was my sole transportation lol)
I like the way that MTB bikes look and feel but I don't think I'm gonna spend most of my time riding on dirt but rather pavement roads (that are somewhat damaged and bumpy)
But l'd still like to be able to go on grass / dirt roads and have no problem riding comfortably
Also I've heard that MTBs sacrifice speed for offroad performance, is it really a drastic difference compared to a regular road bike? Also are offroad tires that ..read more

Yeah it used to be a cruiser frame but its been carefully altered and reinforced to be able to handle trails. (Reinforced head tube, altered head tube angle, etc)
My actual question is, besides the curvy tubes, what is different in geometry from this as it is, and a mountain bike you can buy off the rack?

I'm planning to upgrade some parts on my bike and would love to hear your expert opinions and recommendations! I'm aiming to enhance my riding experience and possibly improve performance. I'm considering upgrading Drivetrain from 3x9 to 1x9. So am I choosing right or wrong parts coz I really wanna do it and I m on budget too So I have seen some of the parts: 1.SHIMANO ALTUS REAR DERAILLEUR - RD-M2000 2.Shimano Shifters | Altus SL-M2010 3.SHIMANO CS-LG300-9 9-SPEED CASSETTE Or SHIMANO CS-HG200 9-SPEED CASSETTE 4.KMC Z9 SPEED CHAIN or DECATHLON 9-Speed Bike Chain
If you have any suggestions or ..read more

Hello all,
I’m looking for a bit of input from the community.
I have the above hardtail and have had it for a couple of years and it’s always made a somewhat “clicking/creak” noise very similar to the noise of a BB. Sometimes the creak is minor sometimes it’s fairly constant. Took it to a LBS to get an opinion on it because it had been seemingly worse recently and was told both the BB and the HS bearings seem totally fine and are “likely not the cause”. There is zero play in any of the bearings.
I’ve been told that titanium does behave like this and makes noise I’ve come to call it”Ti-creak ..read more

I previously owned a Schwinn Solara, a 14-speed road bike with 700c wheels and Shimano components. I'm 6' tall. Ideally, I'd like a bike that can handle both commuting and light mountain trails. I primarily ride on pavement and paved paths, at my local ski resort I can ride downhill trails, and I'm interested in getting into mountain biking. Thanks.
