Found in substrate after a deep cleaning. Snail only tank, I have two tanks with similar worms. I’ve seen small and long (more than an inch). These were wigging out, which may be from expel-p treatment? submitted by /u/Nachotypicalreader [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

If you know why the tank is blue...then I'm sure you sympathize. If you don't, read the body.

First ick outbreak in almost 9 years. Luckily caught early (still lost a couple of rainbows). Water is blue because ick-x turns it that color. Treatment involves: Increasing water temp from 78 to 83 Treating daily with ick-x and a 30% water change before. In my case this is about 50 gallons a day. submitted by /u/Flarkinwaggle [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

This is my second attempt at a planted tank in this 20 gallon tall and I think its turning out amazing. Started out using inert sand and 2 large lava rocks so there would be no PH issues later on. Plants are growing with frequent liquid fertilizer(NilocG Thrive S) and about 20 seachem root tabs. C02 is set to 3bps, and there is an air bubbler set to turn on during the night. Light is a Fluval 3.0 set at 70% for 7 hours a day. The plants I have growing out of the top riparium style are doing far better than I thought they would, and are helping keep the nitrates low. Only issue has been so ..read more

Gf was sad when she broke her clay mug that's been in her Mexican family for years. I found a way to enjoy it every day now!

hey yall this is my first ever cichlid and i am sooo excited to have him. i really wanted a new centerpiece fish that wasn’t a betta for my 20 gallon long, so i settled on a small cichlid. i was originally aiming for a blue ram, but i got this specific bolivian ram instead because he was staring at me and had the cutest little smile. sometimes, when you go in to get specific fish, you come out with a different kind all because of the look on their face? from what i can tell this is a male but if i’m wrong someone please let me know. name suggestions and other general tips are welcome! i’m ..read more

Unique shapes and sizes of fish from Lake Tanganyika

It can be pretty difficult to capture a shot of this many different fish in one frame, while keeping at least one in focus, and staying at good angles, especially because a few of these fish aren't particularly friendly with each other, so being able to showcase the biodiversity of the lake species in a single photo is cool to me. Fish species from left to right: Lamprologus Stappersi, Eretmodus Cyanostictus, Altolamprologus Compressiceps, Julidochromis Dickfeldi submitted by /u/smoofus724 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

If you could stock up on fish medications what would you choose?

If you were able to fill a cabinet or area in your home with all the medications/items you may need to treat your fish/inverts with, what would you want to always have in stock in case needed? I plan on always having clove oil and ich x but I wonder what else would be handy to have on hand at any given time. From fungal infections to bacterial infections to parasites to fin rot. Even stuff for rare or uncommon diseases. If it’s urgent you’d certainly want something on hand if all the stores are closed or you can only order online. So what do you guys think are essentials or things you would w ..read more

I'm looking to make the 20 gallon a breeder, since I've been using my 10 for that but it's became a bit overgrown. The 38 has an Oscar and a pleco. Any ideas? submitted by /u/Huge_Ad_1303 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
