Hello everyone, I'm facing challenges with the performance of my files in large projects, and it's becoming a nightmare. I'm seeking guidelines to avoid a significant decrease in file speed. I've noticed numerous videos addressing specific issues, but they seem to offer only temporary solutions. I'm interested in exploring methods or guide lines to construct my models in such a way they do not become excessively slow. submitted by /u/bazipip [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

AutoCAD stopped working in multiple PCs

So, this week at work, all computers with CAD presented the same issue, the loading screen pops up and after a while it freezes. It happens along with a win 10 update, but some computers had win 8, so I don't think thats it. Still didn't try a reinstall (I don't have admin so I can't install or uninstall stuff) Someone had the same issue? EDIT: I found the post from 10 days ago about someone with the same issue, but no solution was mentioned submitted by /u/jopazo [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Actually I’m not going to be creating the tools and all,it’s basically to create land survey plans for geospatial industries. I’m thinking of getting data(points/coordinates/bearing… etc) via a web form then using the data to create a script. Problem is that I still have to use AutoCAD to run the script to create drawing(not sure) But I need some help. Ir is there any web CAD service that can help me do this ? submitted by /u/kyrie_theblackitachi [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I want to get into CAD drafting but what’s the optimal way to do this?

Dropped out of college 2 years ago and I’ve just been working in the auto industry since. I need to work towards a career now and I feel as if CAD drafting is a great place to start. But should I just go for the certification and get hired? Or does having an associate’s in drafting help that much more? I’ve even heard of people obtaining CAD for free through being a student and just learning on your own. What are hirers looking for when employing a young novice drafter? submitted by /u/AccidentBusy4519 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Pulling my hair out a little after not using autocad in a little while. If I create a drawing of say a cube with a few notches cut out using 2d lines, how do I fill it in so the object looks solid and not just the wireframe. (Tried join and fill, hatch, create surface and nothing works) I have changed the view to shaded/realistic. Appreciate any help! submitted by /u/ikkano [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Scale object while other layer is visible?

I need to replicate a round dial gauge and all of its markings. I created a reference layer and made a circle to 1:1 scale of the actual gauge. (2.2460") and set it to be in front. On layer 0 I have placed a picture of the the round gauge and set this layer to be in the back/behind. I want to resize the picture so the round face is the same size as the circle I drew on the reference layer. The problem is that I cannot keep the refence circle visible as I resize/rescale the picture...so the diameters will match. There has to be a way to make a layer always showing while I am resizing an object ..read more

Publish Selected Layouts Not Working

Using Civil 3D 2021. I have used "Publish Selected Layout" several times before, but recently I am getting errors every time I try to use this feature. No matter what DWG file I use I get this error. I can print single sheets just fine. The error comes up with the first sheet, the number of errors is one, and the error code that comes up is simply "ERROR : error". Has anyone come across this before and know a solution? submitted by /u/Badlee56 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
