Finished this one up tonight, looks good on the shelf but lots of flaws. Struggled with the paint, had to redo it in a few spots. The decals were a challenge as well. Ended up using 3 different sheets, the stock ones that were 30 years old, the unknown brand 1/25 scale ones for the side Valvoline and rear, and the Powerslide 1986-87 valvoline decal sheet. I love the paint scheme on this car though ..read more

My first completed model in almost 30 years! Monogram kit built box stock save for swapping to the 10-hole wheels. Decals were yellowed and not great, so I may redo them, but for now I'm just thrilled to finish a build!  ..read more

This is the first model I have built in about 3 - 4 years. It is amazing how the skills get rusty and the knowledge is slow to come back after a hiatus. It is Revell's modified snap kit.
I used Mark J's method to flare out the side skits. I lowered the stance as the car was sitting too high, but other than that it's built box stock. The paint is Dupli Color and the decals are from Ace.
Thanks for looking.

I finally finished up the Pinto. I ran into issues late in 2023 and parked it.
I had to do the side rails, put on the headers and make up a lot of radiator parts over the weekend.
I'm happy with the way it came out ..read more

This car is the PETTY GMS MOTORSPORTS team Camaro ZL1 entered in the 2022 Cup Series and driven by Eric Jones.
The body colour is Throwback schemes from the Goodyear 400 at Darlington in the spring.
This is the first time I have built a Next Gen car from Salvinos JR Models.
Although this kit is highly detailed and accurate, I had a bit of trouble assembling the suspension sections.
The engine and transaxle parts, which are covered for the most part as in the real car, are barely visible after completion, so painting was omitted to a large extent and the engine hood was glued to the body.

My latest: a fantasy Bubba Wallace Tuskegee Airmen scheme.
Bubba has had Air Force sponsorship over the years, and he’s got it again this year, but a Tuskegee Airmen scheme was never run with Bubba as the driver. (Erik Jones did run one). I thought that was a missed opportunity, so after seeing a scheme on Trading Paints, I asked Sam Lopez of 3 Amigos Decals to create decals based on that.
The car replicates the famous “Red Tails” P-51 Mustangs that the Tuskegee Airmen flew. The body is a 3D printed resin from Jay's Stock Cars ..read more
