I'm going to use a scratch pen on my Toyota to touch up some scratches but in the instructions, the pen manufacturer recommends removing the excess damaged paint using an 800 grit wet sandpaper to smooth the surface before applying the pen, but I'm worried if I'll end up destroying the existing normal paint around the affected area. We have a 2008 Scion xB that seems to never age. Yes, we've had to maintain it and replace old parts, but it's 16 years later and we see no end to its life span yet. Even the interior has barely aged. It was made in Japan, and we've been convinced that's the reason. We're going to need more cars for our kids, now of driving age.
