Just getting this ready as I’ve been out scouting and it looks like I’m going to be very busy with the woodchucks this season I’ve found 15 active dens so far but need the weather to cooperate to start thinning them out 45* f and rain is not the best weather for them to be out feeding but at least I know where they are at and the weather not cooperating will give me a chance to roll up some more ammo as I’m getting low on 223 and I think I’ll use the stick this season so let the games begin ..read more

Went out back yesterday to check on things as we have had a lot of high winds and of course I didn’t have a gun with me and ended up seeing 3 different woodchucks so they will be dealt with soon I had planned on taking a walk this afternoon but rain moved in so maybe tomorrow afternoon I’ll see if I can snipe them I also seen a few coyote tracks so I know I have one of them around also I’ll keep everyone posted on a new season of varmint control ..read more

Got the custom Wood Duck box installed today. Should be fun to keep an eye on it. The large white PVC pipe (4") is slipped over 1 1/2" PVC, which is slipped over 3/4" galvanized pipe driven into the ground with a slight cant toward the water. This slight angle toward the water allows the ducklings to get out with the aid of the grooves cut into the inside for traction. All red cedar complete with 6" of wood shavings. I recently inherited a Ruger American in 30/06. I never got on the '06 wagon and never had one. No really need for it as a "game " rifle, SOOO. I got some 30 cal 110 gr V-max, Varget and went to work. I have come up with a load that prints an inch at 200 yards and averages 3550 fps. I have a p dog trip coming up next weekend and plan to try it out. My normal P dog go-to is my junkyard 6mm rem. I spotted this crow mere feet from my closed garage window, as it was occupied with the bird seed on the ground. Never see them this close, but I had to try to get the window open so that I could get a shot. If you know a thing about crows, you know how wary they are. Just got this Turkish .410, single shot with 3 chokes. Did some patterning to figure out things a bit and then installed a Sig Romeo 5 red dot optic. Dialed it in and went looking for the varmints I got this thing for: red squirrels. Popped one with Federal Top Gun 2 1/2- inch, half ounce of 8 shot with the full choke. Traded some archery stuff for a new like condition Mossberg 935...on Saturday morning,,, shot it with Turkey choke...tight pattern... went to store got some 3 1/2 in 12Ga #4 Buckshot.. went a calling with Foxpro used pup in distress... out came a running yote I put the hammer on her.
