Finally. The footholds have been in place for a week or two, and the bait refreshed a couple of times. They are 'near' the area the dog and I play fetch, so I see the area as we walk by. I don't 'think' there was anything in the traps this morning, but not positive. Went out this afternoon and saw movement. Caught him in the 'log drag' trap, which he had pulled about 10 feet. Double front foot catch. As I have mentioned, we get lots of 'odd' colors, at least compared... Read more ..read more

Hunting Red Fox as a teenager in the snow.

Growing up in NE Ohio me and my young hunting buddies would welcome a fresh, overnight snow. Time for a Red Fox hunt. Red Fox were big game on the trapline and in the bag because a prime January/February Red Fox pelt was worth a lot of money. A friend's Father would pick us up at first light and we would slowly drive along back roads looking for fresh Fox tracks cutting in the snow. When spotted one of us would get out with a 22 rifle and begin tracking. The plan was to be back on the road... Read more ..read more

Got my new .204 all ready to go today and finally put some rounds through it. Wow, what a fun little round! Accurate, Fast, Flat, and hardly enough recoil to make a guy blink. Can't wait to put the crosshairs on a varmint with my new toy ..read more

Sadly, I'm not independently wealthy! BUT....I'm have a feral hog/coyote problem. Yep! I live in the country. Yep! I expect a bit of wildlife incursion. But feral hogs using my driveway for a trail is getting a bit disconcerting. 1) the local vermin population is so harassed, they've all gone nocturnal. 2) Yep! I'm gonna have to burn a little midnight oil 3) I have AR's 5.56/.223, 6.8mm, .308 4) I need some way to illuminate these cursed targets that is within a retirees meager means. I'm... So I been on the look for a guy that traps. Having a hard time finding one Question In your areas do the guys trapping beaver ask for a reward per beaver? I’m use to finding guys that love trapping. I give them access to a great farm for trapping . They have at it. Beaver population reduced. We all win. But at the price this guy is asking per beaver I can’t afford that option. I don’t have the option of trapping myself. So my question is I guess am I dreaming To think I can find someone... Read more ..read more
