My friends Dave and Zendal went up to Ontario to hunt wolves.  Dave is actually one of the top people in the US when it comes to nuisance coyotes and has lots and lots of experience with coyotes in general.  He had always wanted to go on a wolf hunt and call for wolves instead of sitting over bait, this video was shot several years ago and at that time was probably one of the first ever videos of a hunter being successful calling in and taking a wolf.  I finally got around to getting it edited, and it's pretty cool so I thought some of you might like it.     ..read more

Just started trying to trap yotes this spring and learning as I am going.  Just made this set Tuesday as a step down set where yotes had been coming in to a buried carcass from back over the winter.  Had another trap that washed out from recent flooding that I pulled and moved toys spot after seeing that the yotes re opened a hole.   Pretty rewarding feeling Wednesday morning finding my first one in one of my sets. Have a couple sets in for yotes in the sand in the bottom, had them with 1 inch schedule 40 pipe for the bait(pipe dream sets).  Think my locations are good, has been a lot of canine traffic in the area, problem is I keep catching possums.  Using night latched #2's with a pretty light pan.  Hate to set a heavier tension on the traps, not sure doing so would stop from catching possums.  I was using old chunks of nasty rotten deer for bait in the pipe and caven's yodel dog for a lure.  I have since removed the bait and gone to just lure.   Have a ..read more

I got invited out to Centerville, Tx to help eradicate some hogs. Great guys who have access to lots of property in the area. We recovered 22 hogs that night, including a 275 lb rhino of a boar. Me and my cousin are trapping for coyotes and we just got our traps set out two days ago. We trap about an 800 acre grain farm 20 minutes from my house. All of our sets are dirthole sets using double coil Victor 1.75s. Yesterday when we ran our traps, one was trap was thrown without anything in it. This morning we ran our line again and 2 more traps were thrown with no coyote, and one trap was flipped out of the trap bed, and setting up on its side, just not thrown.
