My neighbor and I live a few miles East of St. Louis and want to go shoot prairie dogs in mid-June. I did it with my son in law in 1999 on the Rosebud in South Dakota with a bit of successful. Guide was awful.
I found a list of outfitters in SD and found that the 4 who seemed the best had the same phone number. Seems rather odd, don't you think?
Do any of you kind folks have suggestions for where we could go within a day's drive? I would also appreciate some suggestions for who to...

What is a good caliber for red fox and bobcat, and possibly coyote? Our firearms deer season in November is fairly short, so I want to try predator hunting.
I recently got a glimpse of what I believe is a red fox in my area and a relative says he saw a bobcat one morning.

Is this a service a taxidemist or game processor might offer?
This is for fox, coyote, badger, skunk, c00n, beaver, squirrel, bobcat, etc.
I want to shoot a red fox, preferably a dog, someday for making a fine hat but don't want to do messy work after the gun is fired.
I know deer carcasses can be brought to game processors gutted, body cavity cooled with hide intact ..read more

Farmers started planting the fields for the year and the hogs are back. We managed to recover 22 from this group.
FWIW, in the video when I yell “STOP!” towards the end when I’m shooting from the bed of the truck, the driver had already stopped the truck, but he let his foot off the brake and got out to get his gun and set up on them. This shook the truck, which is what I was yelling “stop” at. It also, happened just before I was going to pull the trigger on the last little piglet. Then I...

Dad shot two coyotes last year, about three weeks apart in the end of November and beginning to middle of December. We skinned them, salted the hides and stretched them out on some scrap wood. They are still stretched in his shed, which is not heated. Those of you who have tanned hides with fur on, what do you use? Homemade alum solution, or do you buy the commercial stuff? I've found some tanning solution online that looks good, but don't know if it works ..read more
