The 3/22 commission meeting topics regarding coyote and bobcat night hunting sounds promising. However, it sounds like they’re planning on restricting “single projectile” firearms. I think this is a stupid idea for obvious reasons. Please submit responses accordingly.

Anyone used a clip-on thermal vs a thermal scope? Just wondering how well it works for predators. I think it would be nice to be able to switch it to different scopes and rifles easily ..read more

Plan on hunting for wolves this spring east or west of sun valley (48,43,36a,49,50). Know of one location they pass through in 48 during the winter. But not sure about the spring. Any input would be greatly appreciated ..read more

Last evening I shot a groundhog at 9 yards with a 243win shooting 75 Gr V-Max at 3440 fps at the muzzle. A conservative estimate is that it was around 3150 fps on impact. From what I can tell, that should still be north of 1500 ft/lbs.
But the weird thing was, I had about a 0.25" entry wound, and no exit, no rupture, no blood at all. This was an early spring female, so I would guess not much more than 7 or 8 lbs. max. When I picked her up, there was no structure left below the head...

Hey everyone. I recently upgraded my Foxpro caller from the Fury 1 to the Fusion. Robby has given me the opportunity to write an article about the caller to be released in about a month. We've had it since the first week of January and have called probably 12 coyotes in and killed 9 with it. The new remote and a couple new features have me sold on the upgrade.
Is there anything specific you would like to see covered on the review...

Been wanting to take my stepson PD shooting. We live in NC and it will be a long drive and probably pretty pricey. Anyone know of any farmers out west in Prarie dog states that will let you hunt?
Thanks,

Given 2 scenarios; one being a rifle hunt in the fall season [before snow].....and the other being winter conditions....what strategies can a guy use to kill a wolf?
It seems to me setting up on a good observation point covering one of their travel routes in early season would be a decent strategy especially early AM and right up to dark.
Calling, Howling?
Has anyone tried dragging a deer leg or scent drag type of thing?
I'm a bowhunter and the only guys I know that have shot a wolf...
