2006 sportsman 450 rear master cylinder issue

I’m having a problem with the LAST part on my project. I rebuilt the whole front end and figured I’d fix the rear master cylinder while I have it on jack stands lol The brake line is severely rusted but I finally got it onto the new master cylinder. But I can’t get it tight enough to have it air locked. Bubbles coming out of the threads. Any recommendations? This is my final part to the project (way over due) Maybe plumbers tape on the thread? I also can’t get the front brakes to tighten up and really work how they should. I believe it’s due to the rear issue. submitted by /u/New-Entrep ..read more

It belongs to a buddy of mine and as a favor I said I'd look at it. The issue was that the electric start was not working and neither were any of the lights. It would pull start just fine. No issues going into gear and would drive just fine. Make a long story short, in the process of getting the electric start to work (which it does now) I had to pull the clutch. Got it all back together amd now it grinds when I try to put it in high or reverse. And for the life of me I don't know why. I didn't take the clutch apart...just took it off. It worked just fine before but now it doesn't. NO I did n ..read more

Advice on Replacement Parts

Hello Polaris Community! I have a 2002 Sportsman 700. Some of my CV boots finally gave out. My question to everyone is should I stick with the Polaris brand since they lasted so long (but nearly twice the cost) or is there an aftermarket brand people recommend or ones I should stay clear of? Another option I am reading about is to just replace the axle as it is usually not much more. Is there a comparable axle out there people recommend or stay clear of? Any advice would be appreciated! TIA! submitted by /u/TooltalQ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Banging/clunking/Clicking Noise

I have a 2016 Polaris Highlifter 1000xp… the last couple of rides I took it on, when I give it hard throttle in first gear it makes this awful clunking or banging noise. It seems to be coming from the front under the handle bars or under the gear shifter. It didn’t do this for the rides early last year. Does anybody have any clue what this is? The bike runs perfectly fine other wise, starts good, shifts gears good, the RPMs are fine. Iv checked the spark plugs and coolant reservoirs. submitted by /u/XxTaChMaNxX [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Currently have 26x9x14 front and 26x11x14 rear but have a chance at great deal on new set but they are 28” just don’t want issues . I'm not very mechanically inclined so this might sound incredibly dumb. I was told I needed to carrier hub bearings. Are these just rear wheel bearings? I can find listing labeled as rear wheel and separate for carrier hub but there's no where else for bearings to go on the back submitted by /u/TasteAmbitious3397 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
