We noticed this morning that one of our goldfish's eyes looks very red and (possibly) swollen.
(Personally, I think it's swollen, but other members of my household have argued 'don't his eyes always bulge out like that?' And they do but this looks more pronounced to me? Might just be my own paranoia though lol. ANYWAY.) It's definitely very red though, on that we all agree ?
(First pic the red eye, second pic his other non-red eye for comparison.)
If it's relevant, I've checked the water parameters and everything looks good.
What can we do for him? What would have caused this? Any advice woul ..read more

My sister doesn’t do Reddit but wants advice. My sister found these little worms in her tank, any idea what they are/ if they can lay eggs (she has some little moss balls that she worries may have eggs in)
Also she wants to know if her fish is fat lol
(She wants you to know that she does clean her fish tank lol)

I have a 20-gallon tank with two fantail goldfish. I am aware that 20 gallons is not enough, but I compensate with weekly 50% water changes. The rules of my apartment state that I can't have a tank larger than 20 gallons. I use a dual sponge filter and have only one artificial plant in the tank.

So with comets, and most other fish species, I can easily tell if the fish is fat or not. But fancies are shaped in such a way that I struggle. They always have compacted bellies due to their breeding... so they all kinda look fat just from the way their internal organs sit.
They're not bloated or pineconing or anything, they seem to be healthy, happy fish. I know they're definitely not underweight, but whether they're a good weight or overweight I have no clue!
When I type into google "how to tell if my fancy goldfish is fat" it just shows me a bunch of cases of pineconing... which that's ed ..read more

So I’ve been dreaming about a pair of ranchus for a while now and I’m almost about to order them. I’ve got a 45 gallon tank, 7.4 ph, 74°F, Cycled tank, sand substrate, and live plants. I also accidentally bought Hikari staple for koi instead of goldfish so is that a problem?
I’m basically looking to know if I’m missing anything important to know before getting the little guys.

Hello, I wanted to ask about my goldfish's body. Is this bloat or is this how fantails grow? I have deduced that he probably is a fantail and I know they are kinda bigger on the stomach but I was wondering if that was bloat or something? If anyone knows please respond. Even if it is bloat I thing it's in the early stages in jsut asking to be sure.
