I have an engine from a 1.8L Mazda MX-5 that I am planning on using in a formula chassis (that I designed and am welding up). My issue is I need to figure out what the best manual transmission would be, I could go the transaxle route, or I could use possibly some fwd Honda civic transmission and mount the engine sideways. From what I could find there was little to no documentation of using an mx-5 engine on a rear mounted formula car and haven't found any sort of useful information on compatible fwd transmissions. Hello. My name is Mary and I have a 2015 mark 4 Mazda Mx-5. Mileage = 23,800. It takes a drive of about 6 miles before I get the mild 'warm' heat through to my heater. After a run of about 20 miles my mild warm heater stays at the same temperature, mildly warm but certainly never hot despite the temperature and fan being set to maximum. I took it to a local mechanic/diagnostic centre who recommended a genuine thermostat and heater matrix flush. My regular mechanic had already checked the coolant and for any leaks. After an oil change, my 1999 1.8 ran normally and smooth for abt 1 minute and then sputtered out and now cranks but does not start. When removing the filter I sparked the wrench on the alternator but it tested fine. New cas still nothing. Cas wiring looks visibly fine. Also replaced the main relay. Still nothing. Vacuum line next to filter is on still. All connectors seem to be on place. I'm thinking I must've bumped something but can't figure it out. Seems to be getting fuel but no spark at all. Hi here, Long time listener, first time poster ... my father (lives in the UK) is getting to an age where he no longer wants to keep his pristine 2005 Arctic series II. I gladly jumped on it but faced with trying to understand what it would take to import that car in the USA, specifically CA, from the UK.
