The Falcons either wasted 100 million dollars on Kirk (money they could have used on Penix's rookie QB deal to build a team around him) or they wasted a 1st round pick on a non-starter. I imagine I'll get some hate for this, but I'm extremely happy with a QB selected number 8. The ultimate goal should be a SB ring. I don't care for the team to go 10-7 and have a first round playoff exit. I'd rather the Falcons win the SB and then suck for the next decade (which let's be honest, we're all used to the sucking at this point). That is way better than just being competitive for a decade. I recently moved back to Atlanta after 10 years away and was shocked listening to the press conference for the Penix draft pick to hear his voice, and that he's still somehow around and seems to always get the most questions in at these press conferences. That man has to be one of the dumbest sports journalists alive. If brains were dynamite he wouldn't be able to blow his nose. As much as we blamed McKay for baffling decisions, at the end of the day it’s always revealed the Godfather made a demand and the FO just had to execute. He forced TD to go get Julio. He made Terry figure out a way to trade for Watson. He’s getting older and told the FO he didn’t want to sit through watching a rookie QB develop.
