For those of you who have more than one set of cymbals, how do you store them when not in use? In an extra cymbal bag? Stacked on top of each other or on their edges? Or some other way altogether ..read more

What's gonig on everyone! Been lurking here for the past little bit but thought I'd break my silence to share some new cymbals! I've been really enjoying my new 22" HHX Complex Thin Crash! It offers a lower pitched trashy hit compared to my Legacy O-Zone which is a glassier trashy hit. looking to eventually add a 19" & 20" to run a 18"/22"/19" crash setup for a tight, quick dark trashy punch.
Check it out here!

So I've sort of been chasing jazz cymbal tones for a few years now. I got a Mantra ride like 2 years ago and I just love this thing to death. To me it is definitely a quintessential jazz ride tone. I'm no expert on jazz ride tones, but I know what I like, and I really dig this Mantra

Recently I've been listening to crash rides online and settled on a Paiste Giant beat 22 but another one I debated about was the 20 inch sterling. I went back and forth between the two, I had enough $$$ saved for it but I just couldn't see spending $550. It's a beautiful pie though, maybe in the future I'll get one . Right now I'm enjoying the Paiste, I've used it on two gigs and think it's pretty sweet ..read more

This is one of those “once heard, never unheard” things…
One of my earliest drumming influences back in the late 70s was Clem Burke of Blondie. I would play along to the albums & singles on my first crappy little stencil kit, and had a great time picking up beats & fills from him.
But there was one thing that I didn’t notice until this century, listening to a CD reissue of Parallel Lines : his hi hats and ride cymbal are identical in pitch. I’ve never noticed this with any other drummer...
