Every month, we join together and do our best to view and critique each others' websites. The main purpose of this post is to learn things from each other that can benefit our own portfolios or websites. Use this space to talk about all aspects of your online representation, from social media to SEO to personal branding and portfolios, the best and worst places to host your work, collective critiques, you name it.
Having an online presence can also be a beneficial utility for those showing their work in an effort to obtain potential clients, so it's highly advised that if you find something p ..read more

There are a lot of Lightroom alternatives, and I'm trying to determine the best one. I know I'll lose all my edits if I switch, but I had Lightroom 6, and after reinstalling Windows on my computer, Adobe won't let me reinstall Lightroom, giving me the message that it is already activated on 2 computers. It isn't, but they refused to deactivate at least one of them so I can reinstall it. So now I need a substitute.
I'm not a professional, and mostly I use Lightroom to batch import photos from my camera to my catalog, while applying Copyright Metadata. Then I go through, get rid of the duds, an ..read more

I booked a newborn photo shoot 2 weeks ago, during shoot we never discussed timeline for when I would receive them. However, as little one wasn’t really sleeping for the sleepy photos she said she would look at what we had got from that day and if we needed anymore she would come back out to take some at a later date. I haven’t heard from her since. So today I messaged just asking when I could expect to receive the photos as I would like to use one of my mum and son as a gift for Christmas if possible, she’s seen it 12 hours ago and hadn’t responded.
I know she was away last weekend after our ..read more

Hi everyone,
I’m starting to get a bit confused with color spaces when editing photos.
Difference between Develop Panel and Navigator
When I’m editing a photo in Lightroom Classic, in the Develop panel the image looks different from the smaller version in the Navigator panel in the top left corner. It’s not a huge issue, but it’s a bit frustrating. I’m not sure which version of the image is showing the correct colors – the one in the Develop panel or the one in Navigator? Can I make them look the same?

hello!!! i'm new to photo editing, and i recently joined a samba jazz band from my town as their photographer and everything audiovisual production-wise.
i love making gifs when i find two or three pictures that could be turned into a gif, but i'm struggling with the colouring/pixelating of my gifs after exporting them.
i have an example attached here. see how the frames looks more like an oil painting than a sharp photograph? i know there are limits to what we can achieve, but i'd like to know if i can improve the frames' quality and make it look more like a real looping tiny video.

Given the recent news about Peak Design potentially volunteering information about Luigi without a subpoena, I’m reconsidering purchasing a 6L sling and QD wrist strap and neck strap. Are there alternatives anyone could recommend? Not necessarily looking for cheaper, just a different brand that’s hopefully more protective of their customers data.

There is no way listed on the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) website how to cancel. They give a phone number (1-800-786-6277) but the phone either does not work or the line is busy. I can't get through. Does anyone know how to cancel? Thanks in advance.
