Cramping and afraid

Found out I am pregnant on July 4th and today I am having severe cramping symptoms. Doctor thinks it could be a miscarriage and wants me to have another HCG test tomorrow. I'm in pain now and have a hot pad on my stomach to help ease the pain. It's my first time ever being pregnant and I don't want to lose my baby. I have told everyone that I'm pregnant and now I'm stressed with the possibility of having a miscarriage. How does one deal with this mentally? I'm always on the verge of tears and close to having a mental breakdown. submitted by /u/Lucy19_ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Anyone else hate their anterior placenta?

I found out at 20 weeks I had an anterior placenta (though I suspected I had one due to the fact I only felt movements low or on the side) I have had anterior placentas with all three of my babies and it makes kick counts almost impossible some days! Today I am 28 weeks and I ended up at L&D tonight because he hadn't moved the entire day. He was completely fine, just hiding behind the placenta. Started kicking almost as soon as the monitor was on. I know as time goes on he won't be able to hide anymore but I wish movements were easier to feel throughout the day! At least twice a week o ha ..read more

Pregnant & Feeling Lonely

Hi beautiful people. It’s late and I’m spiraling. I’m 25w now and I’m feeling just so lonely and isolated. I can’t stop crying about this today. I work from home and I’m blessed to have a flexible schedule since I’m my own boss, but business has been extremely slow and therefore not much of a distraction or income, lately. Hubby and I are low income so even though I have a car, it’s expensive to leave the house. I feel like I have to spend money every time - i.e. coffee, food, gas, ect. I’ve tried to find free things to do like the library and the park but I’m in FL and it’s gets SO hot outsi ..read more

IUGR, low fetal weight at anatomy scan ?

Some background: I had a miscarriage before this current pregnancy, and I only had one period before the pregnancy and before that was on BC for 3 years, so it was hard for them to exactly calculate the due date. I went in for my anatomy scan today at around 21 weeks and baby is measuring at 9th percentile for fetal weight, the lab report said it points to IUGR. I won’t hear back from the doctor until tomorrow or early next week. I need to make it through this weekend without drowning myself in worry. I need some reassurance or success stories, whatever you have. I was a small baby weighing 6 ..read more

I wish I didn’t go on the regretful parents forum at 34 weeks pregnant

Reddit suggested me to look at regretful parents (not sure why but maybe because I have been on a lot of parenting subs being an expecting FTM) - this sub really depressed and scared me. Do you think it’s common to actually regret having your child?! I am so excited to have my baby and it was sobering to read so many stories of people being disillusioned. It’s a helpful sub for people deciding whether or not they want to have kids and a safe space for parents to vent… but I wish I didn’t go on there. I’m even more anxious ? submitted by /u/Reasonable_Law5409 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Why are most maternity jeans skinny jeans?

Why are they mostly skinny jeans? Why the most difficult jean to take on and off? I'm already tall and can't find a single maternity pant with an inseam longer than 32" and I need 34" inches. So I have short tight flood pants. I just wish there were more options, I would like to still look good throughout my pregnancy. submitted by /u/mitomanorth [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My boyfriend is falling out of love with me and I'm 8 months pregnant.

He got drunk and told someone that he is ready to leave me because he is tired of a lot of things. Such as carrying all the weight around the household. I lost my job and I've been out of work for a few months but I just start working a part-time job to relieve him of the financial burden. I try to clean more and help more but I am not helping enough and he is frustrated. I am also in pain and sick which limits my ability to share a lot of responsibility. And we only have sex once a week, because it causes me a lot of pain, and I suck it up to please him but I can't do it more frequently than ..read more

My wife and I were going on our 1 year anniversary trip (wedding anniversary) and a week before we left we found out that she was pregnant. We weren’t trying for it, but also weren’t taking any precautions. Call it a happy surprise! We aren’t telling friends until after the ultrasound August 6th but she should be about 8 weeks along currently and we couldn’t be more excited. Sadly she has horrible morning sickness and the 105° weather in Florida this week has sucked for her, but she is still in great spirits and excited for all that comes with pregnancy (even the not so fun stuff). Fav easy, balanced meals throughout your pregnancy?

I’m struggling to eat well, particularly to get enough protein in. I’m at risk of fetal growth restriction because of previous gut surgeries, so need to be conscious of my food intake. Also, prepping meals I s so hard when this fatigued! I’m seeing a dietitian in a couple of weeks, but previous experiences were a lot of being told what I “should” be doing, without enough realism about what is actually manageable. So, what has helped you make sure you’re getting enough nutrition? submitted by /u/tfabfabulosa [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
