I am working on a big multi-tenant building and will be using 4 8MP cameras, and 49 4MP cameras. (30 days recording, h.265, 25 frames)
I am trying to find out what is best way to choose an NVR, because I don't want any performance or recording issues.
for example, I was reading Ds-9664ni-m8 data sheet (64ch) and it support 8ch 8MP and 16ch 4MP decoding. Does that mean that 4MP cameras won't be enough in this NVR?
What are the factors that I need to consider to choose an NVR for such...

Been looking for a used bargain "powered by darkfighter" cam, and ideally it'd be a 2cd2046g2, but I'm seeing a lot of 2cd2045 models. I looked at the spec sheets which were similar, although the older '5' model has a larger sensor at 1/2.5" compared to the newer 6 model at 1/3".
What is primary difference between the 2**5 models and the 2**6 models?
Its for a nest box so primarily interested in low light performance. Got a 2086g2 already so familiar with the 6 performance, but can only...

After configuration on the firewall allowing nvr through and adding nvr onto Hik-Connect platform, I encounter another issue.
The 3x IP cameras connected to the nvr not online.
Error massage on each channels: "Connecting device to the Streaming Server failed. Refresh to try again."
Please someone assist on this issue?
Many thanks ..read more

Hey everyone,
I'm setting up intrusion detection on my Hikvision cameras (DS-2CD2387G2) and want them to send notifications to my VMS (Video Management System), either NX Witness or Axxon One.
I've been looking into configuration options, but wanted to see if anyone has experience with this specific setup.
Here's what I'm hoping to achieve:
Enable intrusion detection zones on my Hikvision cameras.
Have the cameras trigger a notification to my VMS (NX Witness or Axxon One) when...

Hi
I am looking to mount 4 cameras on the following property at A, B1/2, C and D. Plus a front doorbell cam.
I plan to mount them at the sofit level which would be c. 4.75m. I cannot decide between positions B1 and B2. B2 could be reachable, the sofit is around 2.4-5m.
Any recommendations - particularly on mm/FoV?
I was thinking turrets as follows:
A 2.8mm @ 8mp = 111deg & V:59deg
B1 2.8mm @ 8mp = H:111deg & V:59deg / or
B2 4.0mm @ 8mp = H:87deg & V:38deg
C 2.8mm @ 6mp = H:105deg &...
