Many times when the conversation about diversity, equity and inclusion is taking place in regards to race, the focus is normally geared towards blacks, Hispanics and Asians. Many times, Native Americans are completely left out of the conversation. I have wondered why that is. Plus, many people in my circle that I have asked about what they know about the indigenous people of the United States, most if not always I get, I don’t know much and honestly neither do I.
Which is why I am very excited to have Chenae Bullock as my guest today, to educate and enlighten us and speak about her exper ..read more

I am honored to be in conversation with my guest Ji Sub Jeong about model minority myth. Ji Sub is an illustrator and designer based in San Francisco. I really enjoyed this conversation with him, it made me recognize some perceptions I and people around me have always held about Asians for example Asians being good in STEM or the idea that Asians do not experience as much racism in the US as other minority groups. For me this conversation really highlights that Asians are not a monolithic group, Asia itself is a very diverse continent and so are the people. I hope you find this conversation in ..read more

So many people have questions about race, diversity and inclusion and sometimes they don’t know who to ask or maybe they just want to hear the perspectives of their trusted friend. That is exactly what we're doing today. We’re flipping the script, in which I’m answering questions from a friend/listener and we are getting real and honest in this conversation. From what’s the correct way/terminology to address a person of color to white supremacy. Hope you enjoy and find value in this conversation as much as my guest Katie Wildman and I did.

We all know America is a melting pot of people from all over the world, but yet many people still struggle with the idea of what an American looks like and who exactly is American. For many first generation Americans or immigrants who came to the U.S as a child, I have often wondered if there is a struggle when they feel connected to both their American culture and their ethnic culture. Does that make them less American? How does all this translate in the workplace? Just a few things to think about as we get into this episode.
Joining me today to share THEIR “New American” perspectives a ..read more
