I'm thinking of buying a used Aerospace (Evo or B-1). The prices seem to hover between $1500-2500, depending on condition and whether the full kit is available. A full overhaul is currently $650 at Breitling. The grey market for an Evo or the new B70 is about $3600-4000. Because it's quartz, I'm thinking an Aerospace can go for years without maintenance costs, but I'm starting to think that if I were to spend $2500 on an older model of unknown maintenance history, sending it to Breitling... Picked this little jewel up recently. it's a very early chronograph from the late 1920's/early 1930's. Serial number 281339 w/Landeron-Hahn movement. Interesting early piece in that it's a large 40mm, has a ceramic dial, and a hinged back cover. Runs great too! Over 20 years I've been "playing" with Breitling's and I think this is the oldest I've had. The hinge is broken on the back so I might look at having that repaired even though it snaps shut. Hey guys, Before I make the trip to the AD to get my Avenger looked at, I wanted to check and see if anyone has had a similar issue. In a nutshell, I've had the watch since Dec 2022 so getting a little close to the warranty expiration. I have my bracelet that came with my Super AVI Curtiss Warhawk 46 listed on eBay as I don't wear it, and prefer the watch on leather. I have a potential buyer asking if it will fit their Super Avenger 1. At first I thought no, but cause the case geometry looks different, and there are some flat edges on the watch case between lugs, whereas the Super AVI is curved. I’m cross-shopping the SMP vs the SOH2 in 42mm vs the new Superocean 42 and was wondering if anyone has thoughts as to their comparative wearability. I have an 18cm roundish wrist and I’ve found that watches with 46mm-48mm lug-to-lug tend to wear the most comfortably for me. The BB58 fits me well, as has the Seiko Turtle and the Aquis 41.5.
