ID ZAPM818G. The nice lady down the street let it sit in her garage for a couple of years, and has now decided to sell it. I'm helping her with getting it ready. I'm a relatively experienced car guy but this is my first time working on a Vespa.
Of course the battery is completely flat, 0.0 V so that needs to be replaced. I used my jump pack and it started right up once I figured out you need to hold the brake lever. But I'm getting confusing info on the oil type, some say 5W-40 but others 10W-40. What is the best weight?

I have never owned a Vespa, but I am going on vacation to Italy. I’m slightly interested in purchasing one. Are they more special if I buy them in Italy and ship them to the USA? Is maintenance on them easy or very specialized? better to go with a US dealer ? I was hoping for like a vintage Italian one maybe that I come across during my vacation but this is all new territory for me. Thanks
