Light mascara recommendation

Anyone else prefer their mascara when it’s nearing the end of its life? I use Maybelline Great Lash and kind of hate it until the tube is semi dry. I have a hard time getting a thin/light layer of product on and avoiding lashes sticking together otherwise, even if I scrape the wand on the top of the tube a few times. I’ve tried a couple other brands and styles but have the same problem. Any recommendations for mascara brands or techniques go on light and maintain lash separation right from the get? Color palette suggestions

For the first time ever I want to invest in some high quality eyeshadows, blushes, and lip sticks but not sure what colors are most suitable for me. I don't have it on in the pic but I normally wear tinted sunscreen when doing my makeup. I prefer a soft and natural feminine look but on occasion I like a more bold look. Please and thank you.? https://imgur.com/a/AeSYXzi submitted by /u/Ihavequestions4days [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How long will brand new, unused lipstick “keep” for?

Ok so quick backstory—I don’t really wear much makeup, and I’ve never been a lipstick person. I do wear an extremely basic face when I leave the house though, and every time my 2yo daughter sees me apply it she will ask to wear some too. She also asks every single night before bath and while brushing her teeth because my makeup bag is literally right in front of her face. Tonight before bath I said yes for the first time. I brushed a quick swipe of her choice of eyeshadow on, a little blush, and I pulled out the only lipstick I own—a MAC “Love Me Lipstick” in the shade “408 Bated Breath”. It ..read more

Red eyeliner

Anyone have issues with red eyeliner irritation on their eye lids? I used NYX Epic Wear red liquid eyeliner for years, but now it gives me a rash after I take it off at the end of the day. I just got Colourpop liquid red liner and after I took it off my lid feels a little irritated. Anyone have these problems specifically with red eyeliner and was able to find a good one? I love red liner so much I don't want to stop wearing it ? Or anyone recommend a red eyeshadow that is actually red? submitted by /u/bryeet [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Looking for similar product to ciate bronzing serum

I dislike the bronzi drops and don’t really want anything with glitter/shimmer etc. I don’t really want a thick cream like a standard instant fake tan cream. I’ve really wanted to try these bronzing drops from ciate as I’ve loved all the videos I’ve seen of people using it, but they are always sold out. Does anybody have any other dupes? Seems lightweight and would wear light and THIN under makeup. I hate heaviness on the skin. So definitely looking for the same runny consistency. Did anyone else have a bad experience getting their makeup done at Sephora?

I had my makeup done for the first time at Sephora and I am in shock at how bad it turned out. I don't know if I was just unlucky, or if the makeup artists just aren't as skilled as they appear to be. For background, I called ahead and requested a "vintage" look (like a 60s/70s makeup look) and asked if any of the makeup artists knew how to do that. The woman who answered the phone at Sephora assured me that "any" of their makeup artists could achieve the look. The makeup artist I had was able to achieve the cut crease look of that era without issue, but where everything went horribly wrong w ..read more

Setting powder question

After applying setting powder on my face, I allow it to set for a few seconds before attempting to brush off the excess. But it doesn’t really budge, it leaves a white residue all over my face that doesn't seem to disappear no matter how much I brush why is that? Also, should I only be setting under my eyes? I prefer a matte finish for my entire face, so I'm unsure whether to apply setting powder all over or just focus on the under-eye and nose areas. submitted by /u/Former_Strawberry171 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Advice on baking?

I’ve recently started baking on the sides of my nose cause it makes my nose contour look better, but when I wipe away the powder, the white kind of stays there, like the white lines down my nose don’t come off? I’m using the Rimmel stay matte pressed powder, am I maybe using the wrong powder or is there something else i’m doing wrong? submitted by /u/sw33tcr3ature [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
