The Amateur Athletic Union will host the world’s largest volleyball tournament from June 13 through July 7 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. The 51st AAU Girls’ and Boys’ Junior National Volleyball Championships will draw more than 117,000 athletes and coaches representing all 50 states, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. FIVB, the international federation for volleyball, launched its Volleyball Foundation last week in Lausanne with over $625,000 raised through donations and a charity auction to support projects around the world. Piguet Auction House conducted the bidding with volleyball memorabilia donated by the FIVB and legends of the game. Featuring both online and live bidding, the auction raised $66,000. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach in Alabama are preparing to host the NCAA Beach Volleyball National Championship for the eighth time this season with 16 teams heading to the Gulf Coast from May 3–5, 2024. The region’s ties to beach volleyball started in 2012 when the American Volleyball Coaches Association brought its women’s sand volleyball national championships to the Gulf Coast Region. The Philippines wll host the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship from September 12–28 with its largest field ever of 32 teams from around the world competing. The International Volleyball Federation and Volleyball World made the announcement on Wednesday.
