Found this in a thread last year from a BPI rep. "A fast twist is a 1 in 18 to a 1 in a 24. The fast twist guns shoot heavy bullet’s better than say a 1 in 28 twist which is the industry’s standard. My experience has shown slow twist guns like 225,250 and 275 work best in a 1 in 28 and fast twist guns like 275,300 and 350 bullets better."
Does anyone find this is true? I'm setting up my Accura MR-X 50 cal (1 in 28) for an elk hunt in CO. I'm using Triple 7, as I can't find 209. So far 100...

I’ve been searching for a CO legal bullet that shoots well out of my T/C Prohunter FX. Just picked up some Hornady Bore Driver ELD-X at Fleet Farm. Shooting 100 grains of BH209 by volume, I was shooting 4” groups at 100 with both Thor Hammer .502
300 grain and Federal Borlock 270s—really not too impressed with these out of this gun. Was thrilled to find the new Hornady were spot-on shooting 1” groups. I did at one point have an issue where a bullet pulled back out on my ramrod, so I’m going...

I just received a Kibler Woodsrunner kit in .54 caliber. Everything appears to be top notch quality and very well packaged. Ordered standard maple stock and am impressed with the curl and grain throughout. I've watched all of Jim's videos online and have taken detailed notes throughout. I ordered iron nitrate for the wood stain but have not decided on wood finish or metal finishing solutions. Does anyone have additional tips or tricks they've used while putting their kit together, things to...

I am looking to purchase my first muzzleloader. I want/need something general purpose for all species here in CO , so .50 caliber it is (although there could be a .45 in my future for deer/antelope).
I know the Ultra-Lite is very popular, but I'm leaning towards the heavier option and the Mountaineer. My thinking is that 8.5 lbs. really isn't that heavy (compared to say a scoped centerfire rifle) and 6 lbs. is probably going to kick like a mule. Plan is to shoot 300 grain Thor bullets on...

New to the muzzy game, picked up a used CVA wolf and have been loving it. Been out west several times chasing elk with the bow, but this will be my first year with the smoke pole. Currently running 80 grains by volume of T7 FFFG under a 270 grain Federal Bor-lock. Great accuracy and seems like decent enough power for an elk inside of 100.
Heres my question, whenever I go west I will generally hike in deep and stay for days on end, so what should I do with the charge inside of the gun...

I’m picking up a NEF Heritage 50cal in SS with camo stock from a family member. I cant find a recent value or sale anywhere for these. I think they were like $250 in ~2005. Does anyone know a reasonable value for this muzzy?
Only asking as whatever price I suggest will be taken and I don’t want to accidentally
