Haven't shot Calico, my Firehawk, in 6 months. SHAME on me... Took her out today, and did some work at 50 yards. The load is my go to. A .45 caliber 250 grain XTP in a Harvester crush rib sabot over 70 grains of 3f Swiss. Three shot groups, at 50 yards, were: 1 & 1/16, 3/4, and 13/16ths. All 10 shots were in 1 & 7/8ths, seven of them in 15/ 16ths, NICELY centered. No surprises. Recoil was comfortable. Factory bead front sight and a Savage number 10 aperture rear sight. Days like today are... Read more ..read more

Hello muzzleloaders I've missed you, it's good to be back in Arkansas and behind a trigger again, I want to thank Mark Woodman again for the help and the build and continuing to help me constantly appease my obsession. This is another bull barrel installed on a Remington 700 that has not had any work done on it no lapping of the lugs nothing it's sitting in a Richard's microfit stock I had it bedded for a factory lug and ground that out with the help of Drew Walker of blueprinted firearms in... I harvested this bird in Indiana today with my old stock brand new Tominator made for me by Marlowe Richards a few months ago. I got the gun and spent quite some time patterning with TSS loads and came up with a winner!! There were two Toms and four hens in the corn stubble field this morning and I was able to call the flock to me - I was so well hidden not one bird had a clue. Load data: SQUIB FIRST (20 gn powder), RWS #11 caps. 100 FFG Goex. Two 1/8” lubed felts (wonderlube on mine)... Read more ..read more

After using my father’s JD 650 for the past 35ish years to do stuff around his place and mine, I finally bit the bullet and bought one of my own. Hopefully it holds up half as well as his 650 has. I bought a 1025R with a loader, front snowblower, brush hog, mid mount mower and rototiller. Supposed to be delivered late next week after they get everything set up on it. I also ordered a quick hitch and ballast box from Titan Attachments. This isn’t actually my tractor, but it’s the... Read more ..read more
