I just moved to a house that my brother has been living in for months now. He owns two dogs that basically live in the basement when he's at work, but because of our schedules the dogs are usually left unattended for on average 8-9 hours a day. Because of this I absolutely believe they have been peeing on the carpet for months to the point where it smells like ammonia and on the worst days it even stings my eyes. I've really been thinking about this a lot recently because the price of food and litter for my three cats just keeps going up it feels like. I also have one cat with quite a few medical concerns, so I have prescription food and multiple medications she's on daily. I think between my 3 cats, I'm spending 300-400 a month depending on when I restock food for them, even more when I have vet visits for them. It probably averages out to about $120-130 each per month (and might even be edging closer to $140 at this point). My cat got scared, dove into a bush, and scratched his eye yesterday afternoon. At the time of injury there wasn't a lot that was visibly wrong, though it looked like his eyeball might have had a bit of a scratch on the surface. He pretty much rested the rest of the day yesterday and his eye was looking pretty good this morning when he got up with no redness. I thought he was all good at that point, but he clearly rubbed it during the day and it's a bit aggravated again. Hi! I’ve had my girl stella for more then a year now and while recently she had flees(which we immediately took care of) but she’s still loosing fur I think perhaps she might be stressed and losing fur and my mothers friend who’s a vet agrees but I’m hoping for advice of how to sooth stress in cats. i’m trying to figure out how to bathe my sister dog. i have to it outside since her fur and current state is due to neglect so her coat is matted with layers and covered in stains. im thinking of getting her a leash, tying her to the stairs with a huge bucket of water and just try my best to get through the fur. she’s untrained and hasn’t had a bath since her puppy days. she’s almost two years i think but i don’t think water is a problem, she’s never ran from it or was hesitant to play in puddles. drying her isn’t an issue, the sun is pretty hot out so no problem. any ideas? submitted by /u ..read more
