Within 5 minutes I saw how they were going misrepresent the actual context of Moses life…3 examples.
When Moses killed the Egyptian in the Bible it was heat of the moment, he saved the Israelites life by taking the Egyptians. In the show, Moses walks up to the Egyptian and says “Let him go” and the Egyptian says “yes sir” turns around and kicks him one more time…walks away and then Moses comes up behind him and murders him.
They literally said “social justice started with Moses”…like Moses drive was some moral need to stand up for the “oppressed”. How about Moses was obeying a command fro ..read more

Like it's the day of rest, so I'm not supposed to do anything but does that mean I stare into a wall or am I allowed to go on a walk? Am I allowed to read? Do a face mask?
I'm just checking. What does everyone else do?

*Galatians 1:6-7*
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.

Christ was forgiving sins before the crucifixion. The Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins:
Matthew 9:2 'Some men brought to him a paralysed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, ‘Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.’
Matthew 9:6 'But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.’
Sacrifice is not what is required for forgiveness of sins, rather it is repentance. Christ called sinners to repentance, to stop sinning:
Luke 5:32 'I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.’ John 5:14 ‘Stop sinn ..read more

So im two months out of a six month relationship. My ex had childhood ptsd from an alcoholic and physically abusive brother. She was in therapy for it and on anti-anxiety meds. On the night she opened up to me about her trauma I started a conversation about alcohol. I knew she drank more than me, she bragged about having a high tolerance all the time, but not really how much or the why behind it. During our conversation I learned that she would have around 7-9 drinks a night about twice a week regularly and would sometimes have a drink prior to us going on dates to keep from having a panic at ..read more

My family and I thought we found a great church, and 99% of the people there are great, including the pastor, but there's one huge issue: two of the elders who work in youth ministry make me profoundly uncomfortable. One is the youth pastor, and he is the most flamboyantly gay, closet narcissist I've ever met, who just so happens to have spent the last 20 years bouncing between different churches as an adolescent and teen youth minister. The other is the husband of the director of the childrens ministry (she hired the creepy youth pastor), who gives my young son and I the most hateful, violen ..read more

Maybe I'm a scrooge, but does anyone else struggle with churches organizing and hosting Easter egg hunts?
Of all the Christian holidays, I hold Resurrection Sunday with the highest regard.
Do churches organize these events to be "seeker friendly"?
Do you think churches are trying to be too "cool" and "relevant" at the expense of reverence?
As a parent of young kids, I try my hardest to protect the sanctity of holidays, especially Resurrection Sunday.
Basically, I'm just looking for others perspective?

Fasting is an important part of our relationship with God, and this is evident in Orthodox Christianity. During this season of Great Lent, a lot of questions are asked about how to fast. Through those questions, I realized that the Orthodox approach to fasting isn't necessarily the same as that of the Protestant/Evangelical churches. So out of curiosity, I'd like to ask those who are not Orthodox or Catholic, how and when do you fast? What is the purpose of fasting? How do you decide how or for how long to fast? Thanks for your comments.

This will sound strange but today out of nowhere I opened my laptop and this exact question was opened into my google search. I am the only one who uses my computer and it's password secured and I had this question in the back of my mind for a while.
Yesterday I meet with a friend who just came back from New York City and he told me his tales while solo traveling to NYC as a gay man. He told me stories of heavy drug usage, unrelentless sex, luxury houses and parties and the question in the back of my mind all the time was "why? what do they get out of this way of living?"
Now I realize that t ..read more
