I have this movement on my desc. It is mssing stem, crown and some springs which I can fix. The worst part is the broken pallet fork. (I don't understand how this happens but it is not the first movement I have seen with a broken pallet fork,) Anyway I would like the movement identifird hoping to find a replacement pallet fork. My hope is to find a pallet fork from a similar movement (even one without the chronograph function)...... Any suggestions ..read more

I have a Hamilton movement watch with a Wadsworth case. I have been unable to open up the cover to see the movement serial number. I see an indentation where it it likely pried open and some scratches from other's previous attempts to open. I would appreciate suggestions on how to open without adding more scratches. Just read the link to how to open but this one is difficult. I'll keep trying but any suggestions are certainly appreciated. Respectfully, Bill... Read more ..read more

I'm working on an Elgin 12s, grade 303, model 3, class 114 pocket watch with estimated production of 1924. This is listed as a 7 jewel movement but I can only find 6 jewels. I have the upper and lower pivot staff jewels with cap jewels = 4. Then the pallet fork jewels = 2. Then there should be the impulse jewel on the roller = 1, for a total of 7. However I've found that the impulse jewel is actually made of steel. I've checked this against another 7 jewel Elgin, and a 17 jewel, and both... Read more ..read more

I need to repair or preferably replace two old (manufactured around 30 - 40 years ago) quartz movements that were installed in a hand made case. Can anyone identify these movements? The large square movement (22mm x 23mm) is running since I installed a new battery, but the setting function is not working properly. the smaller movement (6 3/4 by 8 ligne) is not working at all. Both of these movements have a setting function that is actuated by a push button type of mechanism. My... Read more ..read more
