When cleaning pistols i scrupulously maintain tbe orientaion of the recoil spring so that it is reinstalled correctly. While cleaning my M9A4 Centurion last weekend i launched the spring across the room during reinstallation. Both ends of the spring look exact to me. I reinsralled and function checked okay. Well, bought my first Berretta, a 92FS. Was issued the military version while doing military stuff. As a veteran M1911a1 shooter/owner, I wasn't exactly over-whelmed by the new Berretta. Still prefer .45ACP, but I do own several 9mm handguns. What I dislike most about the Berretta is the slide-mounted safety/decocker. Fifty years a M1911a1 owner has imprinted the use of the frame-mounted safety on me. Also, a decocker seems superfluous. The crappy plastic guide rod seems insulting...
