I've seen a local youtuber spearfish around the Vilano Bridge and as well as The Bridge of Lions. Was trying to see how you know if the water is clear enough for it because having to get a boat and go 30 miles offshore. Tried to dive it one time and i couldn't see anything. Any tips or tricks for this? submitted by /u/Scubasteve119 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’ve got an Oceanhunter 800 that I just finished changing the shaft and cable on. Went to test fire it by pulling on the shaft and pressing the trigger and the trigger jammed, it went all the way in but wouldn’t release the shaft, any advice on potential reasons for this/solutions? submitted by /u/Separate_Okra2249 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’d like to start spearfishing. I’m based in the UK, right outside of London. Anyone know anyway I can get better or where I can go to start? submitted by /u/Ok-Win6861 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Attaching Alchemy S fins to Omer Stingray pockets

Hello. I picked up a used set of Alchemy S carbon blades that are currently glued into a pair of footpockets that aren't my size. I already have a pair of Omer Stingrays, in plastic, and I was planning to just remove the old footpockets, and put the blades into my Stingrays. Now, I understand that I will need to drill the blades in order to screw the pockets on, and that is fine (used paid, so I dont have a warranty anyway) but I assume that I will have to glue the "wings" (tendons?) onto the blades. What is the best way to do that? I have ready a lot of conflicting information about which gl ..read more

Shore spearing - Point Billie - Ningaloo Station Wa

Hey guys. Just got into spear fishing and loving it. Shot a few fish so far. I’ve always been a natural at diving but really loving the thrill of this sport. Has anyone in this forum been to Ningaloo station that can give me some tips? I’m camping on the beach at Point Billie and will have someone watching my back as I dive (very competent swimmer but not spear fisher). I’m looking at the charts and google earth and it looks okay. I know it’s full of sharks so prefer to avoid the 18-30m drop off which is fairly close to the shore. Is it still worth my while for Crays/reef species? Thanks! su ..read more

Best Gun for 10-40kg Tuna

Hi guys been spearfishing for about 8years now and had a encounter with a school of Bluefin Tuna in about 5metres of water, average size in the school would have been 10-15 kilograms. Unfortunately they were just staying outside of my shooting range and I only had a 95 salvimar on me that I use for reef fish, so I just watched them swim past very begrudgingly. Am now looking into getting some bigger gear to go out and target these larger fish so wondering what gun and gear people would recommend for Bluefin Tuna around 15-40kg? submitted by /u/Aggressive_Value_907 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey y’all, I wanted some of your opinions. I’ve been eyeing up upgrading from a traditional RA 110 sparid to a RA 110 roller Snapper or I could upgrade my fins from plastic to fibreglass with foot pockets. Which options would you choose? For reference I’m about 2 years into spearing. submitted by /u/roryw1 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
