Hi All,
Just curious if people have had these codes, non start
Can't hear pump prime, not that I ever noticed it did tbh unlike my others, never paid attention to it really on this one, codes relate to injector ground (both) which realistically isn't going to be injectors failing together so my attention isn't there
Had previous issue couple of years ago with code 23 coil 1 ground
Had recent issue with dash staying on after wash down, initially was backlit with no info, key was out, put key in and on/off then it stayed on populated, sorted itself out after a while with battery off but bike ..read more

It is generally seen as common knowledge that Guzzis are easy to maintain. One thing often overlooked though on CARC models is changing the clutch fluid. Sometimes it doesn't get done for sixteen years!
What makes this spectacularly galling is that on these models, despite the slave cylinder being deep in the bowels of the bike the Aprilia designers were sensible enough to put a line on with a remote bleed nipple under the seat making swapping out the fluid super-easy!
This though is just one of the, errr? *Interesting* bits of neglect on this particular bike ..read more

As a long time racer, I struggle with going back to standard shift.
Most won't care, but hoping that those who google search this can find a helpful aid; isn't that what the internet is all about?
Every bike I buy, I have to swap to GP shift. Both Guzzis and BMW oil heads always present a challenge, and the V7 was the most difficult so far (actually less involved than my Griso, but less margin for error). Here's some pics of the task.
Purchasing rearsets won't help, it's not geometrically possible to swap motion at the foot lever, it has to be done at the transmission shaft.
I welded a long ..read more

Hey Peeps,
Look what just arrived:
She is truly beautiful. I live in San Diego now, and today is The Wet Day so no motorcycle riding is permitted. I'm an old Guzzi man, second bike I ever had was a V50 Mk II. This bike is perfect for me.

I have been looking for a running project to do a cafe style bike, and ran a cross this. He has lowered his price down to $2000 and claims it runs and is a "beast". I really want a carburetor model (simple). but I have seen a fe 1100's, one was a '96, '99 and a 2002, they were about 2000 up to 4000 for the later one. but im hesitant to mess with an older machine with fuel injection cause it seems you need to have a PC do Bettle maps or Rapid bike tunnels. SO whats your thoughts? I tied to upload a picture and it was a Jpeg, but no go. If your on FB market place the bike is listed in Miami. App ..read more

Anyone try high comp pistons for their California 1100? I found a set of drop-in 9.5:1 pistons/rings. From what I understand the stock CR is 8.5:1. If anyone has actually done this then please let me know. Thanks ..read more

2013 California 1400 Touring. Service message and red alarm light on. Bike starts and runs easy, battery charges while running, no break issues....suggestions?
Update: First of all, thanks for all the replies to my issue. I solved it by replacing my micro clutch switch under the clutch handle. The switch didn't have any spring tension left and the plunger was stuck. The switch is linked to your bike's electronics and was flagged as a 'service item" in the bikes service / alarm display / speedometer. I replaced it with an 'Amazon' bought general version "Burgess" actuator V4LS microswitch ..read more

Been thinking about buying this bike. Looks in good condition. Had the cam followers done, 44,000 kms, so run in. No touring gear, but can fit Ventura bars and fit my givi top box on it. $9000, it started at 11500, so a reasonably good bargain. it’s a 2011 model and looks nice in white.
