On my Stelvio, it was definitely the startup relay that was clicking. Not sure what changed but all of a sudden, it stopped making the clicking sound when I press the start button.  Even after cleaning the button and clearing the ecu error #45, the clicking is still absent. Found the plunger covered in light grease which had gone sticky. Cleaned it all out and put a smear of light oil on the plunger. That certainly made a difference ..read more

Author: Simond Subject: Click no Crank Posted: 28 Apr 2024 at 07:39 Well, the weather was nice yesterday, so with ‘er ladyship’s assistance I pumped new fluid through the linked brakes, and then I changed the relay that is hidden behind said master cylinder.  This is awkward in the extreme, and involved some serious bad language.  Nice new relay now installed. And it still occasionally goes “click” without turning over. My conclusion is that the “click” I hear (have always heard) is the solenoid, whereas the “click” in the thread title is the relay.
