Hi all,
I'm currently restoring a 'Colvic Seaworker' style boat (as it was advertised), but I'm unable to locate a MIC, WIN, CIN or HIN code (normally on the starboard side on the transom).
I have no other information, other than it's fitted with a VOLVO Penta 2002 engine - manufactured between 1983 to 1993.
Is there anyone out there that can offer any assistance or be able to name the boat's manufacturer going by the images?
Thanks in advanced!

I tried white vinegar for cleaning teak decking in the cockpit and it worked nicely and without the marine price tag

My boat is on fresh water with salty water trips .
So Aluminium fits with that.
But I would use Aluminium regardless. The only case for Zinc if in salt water is that it might last longer than Aluminium.

I've heard of it and I think a couple of chaps at our marina have used it but I have no knowledge of whether it is effective. Next time I see the chaps, I'll ask them.

I'm no expert but I've always gone with which acts as the least noble (anodic) depending upon which type of water in which a boat is used.
That is,
Zinc for Salt water
Aluminium for a mixture, Salt to Brackish to Fresh.
Magnesium for Fresh water only.
Then again, anodes are a bit of a black art simply that a lot depends upon the compound of material a manufacturer has used.

I have been using Aluminium anodes over a period of at least 10 years with no issues.
They must be popular otherwise retailers would have given up selling them.
Any thoughts why zinc and magnesium are needed ?

I just applied antifoul so will not need more for a while.
But since applying the new antifoul paint noticed a more environmentally friendly alternative which is Seajet 021. It is free of biocides and no wish I had known about it a few weeks earier.
Has anyone tried Seajet 021 and if so did it do the job?

My understanding is the Americans treat things differently to the UK . eg they are not so much into DIY maintenance. And of course petrol is much cheaper in the USA. Maybe they also like the size of their engines to be on show. This all influences boat design.
But I do think the time of the inboard sterndrive engine may be drawing to a close.
