Hey everyone! Its been quite some time since I posted here, but I just thought I'd give you all an update on my little neotropical pigeon. I had to find him a new avian vet and it wasn't easy to do. I stopped going to his original avian vet and took him to a non-avian vet who does see birds but is not specially trained. She trimmed his beak and nails, but she didn't do that thorough of a job, which is probably for the best. I found a certified avian vet about 30 minutes away and had... Read more ..read more

The Budgie's Diet?

So I have learned when I got my birds seeds aren't healthy; so I got them coloured pellets instead. Now I learned that those aren't good either and that uncoloured pellets are the way to go. However, many influencers have had their budgies live a long time and make blends on their own, but most those have seeds in them. So I am now just confused. So I am asking what people recommend me to transition to or if I should just stay with what I have ..read more

For the last 2 years, I think this year makes 3 Luna has been getting hormonal. When this happens she kinda slides up to Merlin and tryis rubbing herself on him. Merlin has never shown any interest in mating and just leaves the area. sometimes stepping on Luna’s back and that just really drives her crazy. But today was an all new behavior and it has me thinking I may need to separate them. anyway here is the link ..read more

Hi, I’m a new member and I’d like to ask a question if anyone can answer it. I appreciate it in advance very much. I just adopted a 10 to 11 year-old male military macaw from a hoarders house who also chain-smoked and had several other animals, defecating and peeing in the house. Mr. Gibbs (my macaw) smells awful. Like smoke and very dirty dog. His previous owner also punished him by spraying water in his face. I’ve managed to replace my clicker with a spray from the spray bottle and he’s no... Read more ..read more

I don’t believe newly hatched GCC is being fed. Help!

I have a pair of green cheek conures. They are about 3-4 years of age and they recently laid eggs, but destroyed them. The female then laid eggs again and took care of these. Now one hatched yesterday and was peeping last night. Today I don’t hear any noise, but it’s still moving. I don’t believe she is feeding her chick. She sits on it with the eggs, but I haven’t even seen her even eat. The female squawks at the male when he tries to come into the nesting box. I am afraid the baby will... Read more ..read more
