I tried removing the sponge from the 955 sheet a long while back (just as an experiment) and gave up. It was so well stuck and refused to budge! If I pursued, I guess I would have had the same result as you. Get the real McCoy OX version instead

Victas has the Triple Double Extra (TDE).
It is tacky - really tacky. When new it's so tacky it's unplayable - after a couple of sessions it becomes moderately tacky and rather fast.
As a Battle 2 user I felt this to be the best Hybrid I've used. The problem with it is that there can be some durability issues - this happened to me too (bubble on the topsheet). But yep - it's tacky and feels more european compared to a typical Chinese tacky rubbers (after breaking).
Yeah, I never said Victas didn't have a sticky rubber. I said they don't have a GOOD sticky rubber Since non of ..read more

Just took off the 0.7 sponge from Yinhe 955 with the iron method.Being so thin, it got burned and I cannot get rid of the wrinkles.I already tried the pin method too to burst the bubbles but they still won't go

Any idea what the wood ply combination of the Matador blade is?
I've heard balsa blades are bad for Glanti?
Thanks!
PS. I'm currently playing with a balsa center ply blade.
Walnut - Ayous - Ayous - Ayous - Ayous - Ayous - Walnut
Balsas are generally considered as not that good for antis, I would not use them.

I will ! I will first test it on a Viscaria Super ZLC like blade, my only concern is that it will be a tad too fast. If it's too fast, I will consider gluing it on a Matador Texa Carbon or a slower viscaria like blade
When you wnat to move a frictionless anti between bats, it works ok if you use ordinary water based glue on the blade only. Let it dry and attach the anti. Hopefully it will stay there enough for evaluation. And you can remove it without wrinkle it.
I will probably try it next week when Marcus gets his sheet (it takes a eeek to get it all th ..read more

yes, but OX version. I did try a sponge version, very typical sponged LP, which I had tried to like over the years, but never connected to sponge. I can just say with sponge, the attacks are much faster, chops are nicer, but much less funny
