I agree with everyone else’s responses — waiting until this weekend would likely be fine unless you notice your rabbit stops eating or there are other emergency signs beyond the scabs themselves ..read more

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I had to make the hard decision to euthanize Mr. Bunny yesterday as he was sick for a while and nothing was working. On Friday he developed a head tilt and by Sunday he was paralyzed from E. Cuniculi. The poor thing was contorted and we left him at the vet a couple of days in the hopes he would get better but he wasn’t. He was a love. Always snuggled with me, followed me around the house and yard. Best buds with our lab and children. My heart is shattered and the guilt I feel is trememdous. Your bun sounded like he was just as amazing. When we are so close to t ..read more

I took him to the vet yesterday morning and they took new x-rays and she still didn’t see anything really concerning. He apparently may have just strained his leg/legs jumping out of a higher litterbox I had that I will no longer be using (it’s really low in the front but he insisted on jumping out of the higher sides) but… right after getting back from the vet he seemed like his normal self and he’s back to hopping around normally. 200 dollars later lol. I asked about using a different/stronger pain med and they still insist on the meloxicam but if I think he needs something stronger I’ll ins ..read more

I was giving my bunny pets this evening and noticed these sores/cuts on his mouth. We’re planning to take him to the vet this weekend but is that too long? Is there anything to help him feel better in the meantime ..read more

I knew nails were overdue, but it didn’t look too bad.  With my health issues, I get behind on a lot of things.  Was going to have the goat farrier help again and forgot when she was here.  Then I noticed Boo was not feeling well.  Even though she HATES being touched, I managed to pick her up (followed by a mild drop ?) and checked her all over… thinking about tummy or tooth issues.  Ugh, it was her nails!  Much longer than they looked, hidden by hair.  Her feet were hurting her.  I feel SO bad!  I did manage to get them clipped by myself, miracle ..read more

Haha! Yeah, they were probably able to get cheap rent because the mall was trying to fill empty space. I wouldn’t take that as a red flag, necessarily. More important is their operation and how they care for the bunnies ..read more

Bunnies do go through an adolescence phase. It would be more pronounced if she was unspayed, but even spayed/neutered bunnies will try to test boundaries when they are young and energetic. The changing light can also cause them to produce sex hormones through their adrenal glands, which leads to what we call “March Madness”. It makes bunnies go bonkers for a bit during the spring months. If it’s just your hands, then it could be triggered by smell. Or it could be triggered by eye sight. If your hand is coming from above or directly in front of her, she may not be able to see it well. So say yo ..read more

Yeah, it’s so hard to see them when they can’t hold themselves up. Sometimes the arthritis will lead to degeneration of the spine, as Bam mentioned. Or it can be EC sneaking in. Or it can be both ..read more
