hey everyone. I use carefresh litter for my 3 rabbits. I have to change all four litter boxes that they use every day!! Am I not using enough litter to last a few days or what? They poo and pee a lot and the litter boxes are stinky and heavily soiled. I put about 4-5 large handfuls in each one every morning. I see pictures of peoples litter boxes for their buns and it looks like they use pellets quite a bit and that they have a LOT of litter in the boxes!! I don’t understand what I’m doing... My Flemish Giant is 7 months old. I keep toying with the idea of getting a harness so we can take walks on the back deck and yard. I read positive and negation feedback on that idea. Thoughts? I am a first time rabbit owner. Also, I've been unable to find a harness her size online. Ideas ..read more

Hi, I rescued a bunny (double Main Lionhead ) who was eight months old and had never been socialized. He was among many bunnies and I’m not sure what the situation was, but maybe a hoarder or breeding situation only. Regardless, I’ve had almost every kind of pet, but I’ve never had a bunny. I’ve had him for almost two months. I immediately took him to my Veterinarian to be checked out and he was neutered. I was so pleasantly surprised, my wonderful Vet would handle exotic animals. He has... Read more ..read more

Hi there! I was hoping someone had experience with cartrophen injections for arthritic rabbits? There is not much info out there and read one page it shouldn’t be used with metacam. He is on metacam and buprenorphine. Don’t want to do something wrong. Also read other people using it while rabbit is on metacam. So I am very confused and lost, thank you ..read more

Hello bunny lovers! My Flemish giants left eye is very red and it kind of looks like blood but I sure hope it isn’t. My other little dwarf bunny washes his eyes on a daily basis, and I’m not sure if it’s because of that? I had him outside on grass about two days ago, and there was nothing. I’ve only first seen it now… can anyone help ..read more

'sigh' My lovely Lotte, my youngest doe aged just 1 died last sunday due to blockage, I noticed something was off Saturday noon when she refused her oats. Symptoms were quite different to stasis episodes I've had with other rabbits. Since nothing I tried showed any improvement I got her to a vet clinic on sunday (no own car, not cheap) , but there wasn't anything to be done to safe her, we tried surgery but the intestines were broken and, well, that was it. Anyway. she left me a litter of... Read more ..read more

Potential vet costs?
RabbitsOnline

Okay so I’ve been wanting a bunny for the past half year now, and I’ve done a crap ton of research so the bunny can live a long and safe life. I’ve finally convinced my parents to let me adopt a bunny and I should be able to do that by Christmas or somewhere during December. And I’ve finally been hit with the topic of vet bills. Please explain to me how much it generally cost to actually maintain a rabbits health in case of emergencies. I know like checkups and stuff can cost around 200... Read more ..read more

that I woke up to a world without Sage. My heart has joined the Thousand, for my friend stopped running today. Sage passed away in my arms at the vet yesterday. She became partially paralyzed a couple weeks ago due to arthritis in her spine. She'd lost significant muscle mass in the last year and slowed down a lot, but was always in good spirits and enjoyed her peaceful life in a quiet office room to herself. When I found her stuck in her "bed box" (she made sure one litterbox... Read more ..read more

Hello everyone, my rabbit has not been eating since last night or pooping . It is now going to be afternoon since she hasn’t ate by herself or pooped. I took her to the vet this morning. All they recommended I do is give her papaya I guess it’s good for the digestive system. But other than that I have been trying everything I’ve been force-feeding critical care and giving her water. I’ve been giving her belly massages, gave her some simethicone gas drops every hour and metacam notching is... Read more ..read more
