“Through the rainy forest I tread, Raindrops softly falling on my head The trail, slippery from damp leaves Slides me deeper into nature’s sanctuary Each step leaves a mushy footprint in the ground Just me alone here even the birds aren’t hanging around There is just something about these quiet hikes Makes the risk of getting soaked worth the try The streams are swelling you can her the sound In every direction you walk, all around Here, time slows, just you and the rhythm of the rain A soul bath, quieting the brain So let the rain fall, let the trees wrap me in an embrace For in this gray co ..read more

Art by me If you follow along with me on this and other platforms, you know I enjoy researching and posting older news and encounters. Today’s post is from the Bigfoot Casebook, which did a good job collecting a lot of sighting reports from all over, from other researchers as well. Here is one of those encounters… “A 30-year-old police officer, Verlin Herrington, encountered a Bigfoot at 2:35 a.m. on Sunday 26 July 1969. He was himself a deputy sheriff for Gray’s Harbor County, Washington State, and at the time was driving home on the Deekay Road in the direction of Copalis Beach. As he rounde ..read more

Picture by me Point Isabel, Ohio, Fall 1968 Hearing a sound outside the farmhouse Larry Abbott, his father and a relative, Arnold Hubbard, went outdoors to look. Then, from the opposite side of the house, they heard a rustling of weeds. Grabbing a flashlight they saw a “monster” rising from the tall brush about 50 ft away. It was walking toward them, and appeared to be about 10 ft tall and about 4 ft across the shoulders. Its arms were long, like an ape’s. In the flashlight beam the monster’s hairy body was a beige color; its eyes glowed over a nose that was beyond Larry’s ability to describe ..read more

“The First time Jim Spink lived by himself in Florida’s Everglades in search of Bigfoot, he stayed six months. He purchased equipment at a flea market. His camera didn’t have a Flash attachment.. -Now Jim Spink is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization, duly certified by the Internal Revenue Service. And the next time he lives in the Eyerglades, he figures the National Science Feundation can provide him with $21,780 in infra-red camera equipment so he can take Bigfoot’s picture. Spink is an unusual man. So is Bigloot (or the Skunk Ape), if he is real. Spink is for real. Spink is a perpetual juni ..read more

In 1673 French explorers going down the Mississippi River they noticed a painting on the rocks as they went by, in father Jacques Marquette’s journal he wrote the following; “…while skirting some rocks, which by their height and length inspired awe, we saw upon one of them two painted monsters which at first made us afraid, and upon which the boldest savages dare not long rest their eyes…they are as large as a calf; they have horns on their heads like those of a deer, a horrible look, red eyes, a beard like a tiger’s, a face somewhat like a man’s, a body covered with scales, and so long a tai ..read more

Fear of the Wild Unknown

European colonialism had a profound impact on the forests and wildlife of the New World. The colonizers brought with them a deep-seated fear of the unknown, which manifested itself in many ways, including a fear of the wild forest, wolves, and superstitions of the unknown forest. The colonizers viewed the forest as a dark and dangerous place, full of unknown dangers and lurking predators. They saw the forest as a place of darkness and evil, where the devil himself might be lurking. This fear was compounded by the presence of wolves, which were seen as vicious and bloodthirsty predators that w ..read more

One night I was doing patrol ops in the woods/hills and we decided to take a pause. It was around 3am we were taking a break. It was during a wargame and I was on watch. Holding security we were seeing an outline in the woods and meanwhile we are sleep deprived not thinking we were seeing real things in the tree line till we till we talked to each other to confirm what we were seeing through our nods. Pebbles were being thrown at us and we were confused and thinking we were about to be run up on by Opfor (Opposition Force). So we wake up our guys slowly thinking we’re about to be ambushed. On the night of July 26, 1895, in the Delaware County resort town of Margaretville, Peter Thomas was driving a team of horses on a lone road when a “wild-eyed man or ape” stood in the road ahead. Thomas said the creature had “long and hairy arms” and was “uttering a raucous, inarticulate cry.” He said the creature twisted the neck of one of his horses before dragging it into the darkness. The creature was “seven feet high, of human shape, covered with hair.” The next day, local farmer John Cook said he shot “a ferocious ape-like being,” before it grabbed him and threw him to the ground. The w ..read more
