IRS Waiver of Annual RMD for Inherited Retirement Accounts

IRS Waiver of Annual RMD for Inherited Retirement Accounts STRETCH went away (SECURE Act) for most INHERITED retirement accounts; there are important exceptions for ELIGIBLE beneficiaries that include spouses & minors. There was initial confusion for the new 10-yr Rule to empty most inherited retirement plan balances whether the annual RMDs will be still required. The IRS flip-flopped on this & now has resorted to ad-hoc annual WAIVERS. So, we now have a waiver for 2024 RMDs from inherited accounts for the 4th year. What a joke! https://www.thinkadvisor.com/2024/04/17/irs-waives-2024 ..read more

(problem also common when i try same for GO or HR separately ..read more

Not sure if ? this belongs here or elsewhere, but I was looking at Vanguard Total World Stock Index Admiral (VTWAX), which is also available as an ETF (Vanguard Total World Stock ETF, VT). Currently, the Vanguard page for VTWAX shows the NAV as $38.13, but the page for VT shows the NAV at $107.62. Since the fundamentals, weighted exposures, and portfolios are identical, why the difference in their NAV ..read more

Wacky weed, Mary Jane and related leads the pack (MJ etf). One may presume this seems appropriate during these turbulent times; whether rolling one's own, baking some brownies or having a gummie. I set the chart for the 5 day return, for the best to the worst % returns from last week. Remain curious. Catch ..read more

Jamie Dimon (JPM) Looking for Future Rate Storms

Jamie Dimon's annual letter, pg 20, "Therefore, we are prepared for a very broad range of interest rates, from 2% to 8% or even more, with equally wide-ranging economic outcomes — from strong economic growth with moderate inflation (in this case, higher interest rates would result from higher demand for capital) to a recession with inflation; i.e., stagflation. Economically, the worst-case scenario would be stagflation, which would not only come with higher interest rates but also with higher credit losses, lower business volumes and more difficult markets. Under these many different scenario ..read more
