I know this is a terrible topic for a thread, apologies in advance and a warning I’ll describe it!! But just really intrigued..
We have two indoor cats who have a catio outside the back door they access through a cat flap, and a back garden surrounded by 6 foot fences - it’s not cat proofed and we do occasionally have visitor cats - did notice one recently - but no dog could get over.
We woke to vomit on the stone right outside the cat run, (definitely not from ours) which was huge -...

Since we have been back home two young pigeons with absolutely no fear of anything have been hanging out in the garden. The parents come back every now and again to feed them, in between times they snooze or have the occasional stroll. I wonder if they have come out of the nest a bit too young, perhaps the high winds destroyed the nest. I’m not particularly worried about them as they are being regularly fed, but Isla is taking a great deal of interest in them and I have to be careful when...

Hi there
Just after some advice, for the past 4 nights a hedgehog has made it into my house (back door open due to cat) the first 3 nights i found it eating the cat food but tonight i found it down the back of my sofa after hearing some rustling noise ( i thought it was the cat). each night i have just carefully picked it up and placed it back int he garden near the bushes.
Is it normal for a hedgehog to do this??
a few people have said they are covered in fleas and ticks should i now...

Hi all,
For several weeks now, this pretty little rabbit who I've named BunBun, has been appearing in my garden. I'm pretty sure its a wild rabbit. It seems happy and seems to eat fallen leaves etc.
As far as I'm aware, I'm not near any public wooded areas, so I'm not sure where it came from. It does run to a specific place to hide, but I don't want to explore TOO much in case there's a warren and I disturb it/any babies. However, this is the only bunny I've seen so far.
I'm not sure if...

Walking along a little-used track this afternoon between overgrown hedgerows, I encountered several small clouds of butterflies - up to a dozen in each group, all headed from the hedgerows into the sun.
I'm guessing that they may have just hatched from their chrysalises.
I could identify several as Small Wood butterflies: but I don't know what the rest may have been - they were the same size as the Small Woods, but seemed to be a yellowy orange, the underside of the wings being brown...
