Hi everyone it as been a long time since I last posted on here.
I require your help please my beautiful 3 year old Whippet is going to a stud on Tuesday. The stud dog is also a Whippet.
We have never had a dog that we have let have pups before. Rosie has had a health check at the vets who said she is in top condition and should have no problems (fingers crossed). My question is when a dog is pregnant do we feed her extra food the vet said 4 weeks before she is due to give birth feed her on...

Hi
I need some help I brought a puppy from BuyAPet.co.uk, I collected the puppy and I seen the mother, it was vet checked but never seen any documenation, The puppy is very poorly and the vet has told me going to cost me up to £600-£1000 for treatment, we have only had the puppy a month, I am unable to get hold of the seller being ignored, I have reached out to BuyAPet.co.uk who have been so helpful with advice and given me some numbers to contact to report the seller ect but there is not...

Hello,
I am new to this forum, but wanted to get some advice/stories from some like minded people.
I have a beautiful Fox Red Labrador bitch who is the most loving, well-behaved and intelligent dog. She is KC registered. I am thinking of breeding her in her next season. She is 18 months old currently.
I currently work part time and my partner works full time from home.
Has anyone else who works bred their bitch from home, what advice would you give? What stories do you have.
I am just...

Hi, first time poster here.
Has anyone ever dealt with this breeder? They sound a bit dodgy to me, quick to take a deposit and full of excuses about not posting pictures of 'litters' to interested people once the deposit has been paid- too busy/forgot/have to take dog to vets, etc.
I am very concerned, given that a disabled friend of mine has paid, and is desperate for a puppy to keep them company. This is the response they are getting.
Very strange.

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for reputable lurcher breeders and am not coming up with much through simple google searches. Does anyone know of any good breeders, or upcoming litters? I am based in the North West but am happy to travel.
Ideally i'm after something like a saluki/whippet/deerhound X bitch, but am open to other mixes.
All help appreciated ..read more

Hello
Looking for advice from poodle owners/breeders,
If a merle poodle was to breed with a brown with a tiny amount of white on chest poodle, am I right in thinking I should be dna testing the brown poodle for the merle gene to avoid double merle gene and is the test (M-Locus) merle? That I should be using?
Thank you ..read more

Hi everyone,
I bred a litter 5 years ago because I wanted to carry on the line of an exceptional dog and keep a bitch. I made detailed contracts and interviewed applicants and chose owners carefully etc. One contract stipulation was that if the owner could no longer care for the dog, they should be returned to me. 18 months ago, one dog was found on the road (microchip not changed so they called me) so I had him back. After a lot of training he's super.
One of my other dogs went to a...

A breeder who has become a good friend over last 20 years gave me a 3 year old dog on breeding terms. The agreement was that he would be my dog and live with me, but she said she may want to use him for stud occasionally in future so wanted to keep that option open. I was happy with that as we had become very good friends, I've had a number of dogs from her over the years including a bitch on breeding terms and all worked very well...until now.
Four months on she is now saying she regrets...

Hi
My Doberman was breed via AI on Saturday (day 13 of her heat cycle)
After doing cytology on the Thursday and the lady telling me she was ready.
we did AI as she weren’t standing for the stud.
the stud is a friend dog, they were together again on Monday (day 15 of her heat) and she was standing for him and after numerous try’s he finally got inside and she yelped and moved and he fell off within seconds, then his private’s “expanded” and we missed out try.
she’s now day 17 and I’m just...

Hello, new to this forum and looking for some advice.
I went to see a silver Labrador puppy which I loved but something is just not adding up.
The puppy is not KC registered and the seller is saying it’s £500 to register the puppy and for breeding rights?
Looking at the KC website this doesn’t seem right, it feels like something isn’t being disclosed.
Any advice would be appreciated. My heart loves the pup and I think it would be a great fit for the family, but my head is saying there’s...
