Cheryl and I have been talking about the possibility of buying a roll of batting instead of the smaller bundles. Being that I suck at math, I am trying to figure out if it would be a better investment. Anyone have any idea how many quilts one can make using the roll which is 96 inches by 30 yards. Obviously, I understand that it would depend on the size of the quilt as a king-sized quilt would take far more than a crib quilt. I believe Benjamin left me a nice cold. Little bugger!! It has creep up on me a little at a time all day. Its more than allergies. I have a headache and feel ucky. I want to watch Oak Island tonight, so I am trying to stay up. I got the bobbin boats in the mail today. I like them a lot more than the oval plastic holder for bobbins. I named this one Henrietta as a nod to Henry Mancini's Baby Elephant Walk (Hatari circa 1960s). I learned a ton about applique, fusible webbing and sewing in tight tight tight spaces. Definitely have more confidence in using my machine, and I need much more practice with turns and curves. I used 4 selections from Kaffe Fassett for the applique pieces and binding. The pattern is Holi Ganesha by Madi Hastings. I quilted on my DSM using Quilting Made Easy tear away sheets. Henrietta will hang behind my cutting table as soon as the compression hanger is complete. Good Morning All, It was a beautiful day, yesterday. The temperatures dropped to a comfortable level and the breeze felt wonderful. I worked on a SS project, cut some flannel strips, and waited for the mail. The backing fabric for the flannel quilt is here. Yippee! I can make an appointment to drop it off. The triangle on a rolls came for the Heart of America. I still have an order from M* that's due sometime. I put away the groceries when they came in. That didn't take long. Back story: I had friends who were long time music educators in nearby school districts. Mary taught strings and played piano beautifully. Ike was a saxophone player and had a fabulous singing voice. He sounded like Mel Torme, the Velvet Fog! He taught instrumental music and chorus. They taught thousands of students over their careers. They were both much beloved by their former students. in 2013, Mary got sick and passed away. She was very beloved, 40 of her string students formed an orchestra and played at her funeral.
