The 2022 Copenhagen Half Marathon drew the largest number of elite African runners, particularly from Ethiopia and Kenya.  Ethiopia dominated winning the men's and women's title. They occupied five podium places, with Kenya taking other solitary top placing. Strong winds deny Akani Simbine and Gift Leotlela new records at the 2021 Sizwe Medical Fund ASA Senior Track & Field and Combined Events Championships in Pretoria on Thursday. Simbine stormed to victory in the 100m with a season leading time of 9.82 secs (+2.8m/s), with the 0.8m/s wind over the legal limit ruling it out from being a new South African record.
